Switched On: Sony's forward Dash

Feb 24th 2010 2:05AM (Engadget)
@avonord

Dash supports multi-tasking about 7 apps at once. Dash also supports flash. Don't worry though, these will all be Apple innovations when they introduce them in the future...

Toshiba promising TransferJet equipped products by end of the year

@iRawr
It would be nice if it were that simple, unfortunately it isn't. Blue-tooth has been around for ages and isn't really the best wireless solution for transferring data.

TransferJet is around 187 times faster than blue-tooth and only requires touching the devices together once you turn on the TransferJet mode to share your data. I'm more advanced with electronics than the average customers and I find bluetooth to be frustrating at times.

Toshiba promising TransferJet equipped products by end of the year

@Information Central
It's really not just about transferring with out a cable. TransferJet is faster than USB 2 and is also about 187 times faster than Bluetooth. Wifi requires some sort of setup and is never the easiest solution. TransferJet is point to point so there is no need for pins or network setup. It's also faster than Wifi.

With 2 TransferJet enabled cameras you can simply share photos by touching the cameras together once you turn on TransferJet mode.

You can do the same thing with cellphones and hopefully it gets implemented in MP3 players, it would be pretty cool to transfer a song to your friend in a few seconds just by touching your MP3 players together. I think it's great to see other companies announcing transferjet products.

Save $50 on a 360 at CompUSA

Sep 13th 2006 12:13AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Keep copies of everything you send in. If you don’t get a response or they decline it take the copy into your local CompUSA and they will give you the rebate there at least in Michigan I know they would and it should be the same at a CC or BB. Of course you have to wait the 8-10 weeks before you go in there with proper documentation. If they give you crap start talking about contacting your district attorney and better business bureau that always seemed to scare the front end people at the store I worked at. As long as you fill out everything right and get things out on the correct dates and you don’t get your rebate just march right on in there and get your money.

The 'death of childhood'? Blame games, say UK childcare experts

That pic is too damn funny! LOL

Guerilla (marketers) in our midst

Sep 12th 2006 5:56PM (Joystiq)
I've bought allot of games based on what several people have had to say about them on Joystiq. I need to know what’s crap and what’s good and I don't care how the people who sell these games get the word out about them as long as they aren't telling tall tales. I don't want to blow $60 bucks on 360 games only to find out how crappy they are. That being said I'm not going to go off of one person’s advice alone, I usually look at what people have to complain about before I read the positives any how.

Viral .Mac feedback - copy and paste this, let's make Apple listen

Sep 10th 2006 10:04PM (TUAW.com)
I've had my I-Book G4 for about 14 months now and never saw a reason to subscribe after the subscription ran out. I just figured people who signed for .Mac did so for the @mac e-mail address so they could show every one they where with the "cool crowd." I must admit I almost bought into it just for that reason.

Gamer culture: I can't ambi-shoulder-button

Sep 7th 2006 4:21PM (Joystiq)
I sometimes am far slower when responding to buttons that need to be pushed on the left side. Like Halo, I'm finding my reaction time is dropping off at only 23 years old. I think me playing Halo CE when I was 19 could totally own me today because for what ever reason my response time is down.

Rumorang: Xbox 360 HDMI cable officially yanked

Sep 5th 2006 7:59PM (Joystiq)
How about the 360 doesn't support HDCP? I heard something about the movie studios being able to limit the resolution of HD-DVD on an analog solution like component if they wanted too. Now if they impose these restrictions how will one get 1080P on their HD-DVD player for the 360?

Target selling pre-bricked 360s?

Sep 4th 2006 9:23PM (Joystiq Xbox)
You know maybe they did this on purpose because it looks a hell of alot like their trade mark bullseye?
