Get caught in FFXIII-2's dark embrace via NYCC trailer and screens

I still think that Charice is a weird choice for a Final Fantasy game, but you have to admit that she's a really good singer. The song is sappy as hell, but I can't really say I expected anything different. It fits the source material.

Sappy song or not, I'm so stoked for this game. Also, Hope! :D

El Shaddai and a new game+ for Bastion. Both are really excellent. @_@

The Joystiq Podcast Appreciation Group lives on!

It should be noted that we only moved to Ning because Facebook no longer had the features we had enjoyed due to the forced group upgrades. The original facebook group is still there, but a majority of the good-looking users have moved to Ning. Feel free to join either one (but join the ning if you're not a loser).

Fourth Mass Effect novel, 'Deception,' coming this fall

Apr 5th 2011 5:54PM (Joystiq)
@(Unverified) The second book follows Kahlee at the Ascension project after the events of ME1. It focuses on The Illusive Man, Gillian, her father Grayson, and Kahlee. It's the first time in the series we meet The Illusive Man, the Collectors, and the inside of the Flotilla. Granted, we don't meet the collectors, but they're talked about in great detail.

The third novel basically follows The Illusive Man's cybernetic reaper tests on Grayson which turns him into an awesome biotic killing machine. Adds more character development to Anderson and Kahlee, who I hope makes an appearance in ME3. It also expands on Aria and her reign over Omega.

Basically the second and third novels foreshadow events in the games. Don't really see what role Gillian will play in ME3, since she'll probably only be 14 or 15 by then. I can't really see Bioware making an autistic biotic a party member...

Trying to get through act 1 of Dragon Age 2, but I can't stop playing Torchlight for XBLA. I have nothing but love for that game.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep: Volume 2 teased by Final Mix secret ending

@Angel Mass

I may be wrong but from what I understand, Xenmas wants to create another Keyblade War like the one that took place before the games in order to open up Kingdom Hearts. Aqua, Ventus, and Terra are keyblade wielders who eventually put their lights/hearts/encouragement into Kairi, Sora, and Riku so that they will eventually save the world/become keyblade masters. Ventus goes into a deep sleep and is put into castle oblivion by Aqua to keep him hidden. Organization XIII is trying to find Ventus as his heart is a part of Sora's as well (I think. I'm not finished with 358/2 Days yet).

Eventually, Sora grows up and leaves Destiny Island in search of Riku and Kairi, slays Ansem, and is split from his friends again. However, because Sora became a heartless in KH1, Roxas was born and he joined Org. XIII. Whatever happens in 358/2 Days occurs and we go up to KHII, where Sora wakes up from the Castle Oblivion chamber after the events of Days and Chain of Memories.

In KHII, Sora kills all the other Org. XIII members and reunites with his friends once again. Now, I'm not sure, but I think that in KH3D:DDD, Sora and Riku are training for their Keyblade Mastery exams so that in KH3, they can either become masters or already be masters and put an end to Xenmas/Ansem's plans to revive Kingdom Hearts.

That's probably all wrong, but I've only played each game once when they originally came out, so my memory of these games isn't exactly amazing. Lots of stuff with heart splitting and evil Soras and kingdomheartswhereismyheart and yeah.

Mass Effect 2's PS3-exclusive comic: how it works

Dec 17th 2010 11:13PM (Joystiq)
So, if this starts after the beginning cutscene, how does it deal with the Ashley/Kaiden choice? They show up in the first cutscene running to Shepard as the Collectors attack. Seems like a weird place to put it.

AssCreed: Brohood and maybe some of that Kingdom Hearts DS game. Beat AssCreed last night and the ending was awesome! So stoked for ACIII! Now to just find those remaining flags in the romulus caverns.
