It smells like pine needles. Luckily, via a candle.

Amazon Lightning Deals get grounded today

Should be noted that this is found in the "Video Games" section, "Deal of the Day" link....not Amazon's main page deals.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations concludes Ezio's story this November

May 5th 2011 1:41PM (Joystiq)
Personally thought each of the games in the series has poked it's nose out and improved on the original foundation. Hopefully this one does the same or more.

Not sure if the article is only saying that Ezio's story ends, or if the franchise as a whole is. Guessing just Ezio, so in that case as long as they don't simply "sidegrade" the next iteration there should be good things to come from this team.

@Tradio Because that's RockStar's MO...
At least think a little before you post.

THQ blames Red Dead Redemption for lower UFC 2010 sales

Jul 24th 2010 11:37PM (Joystiq)
I actually pre-ordered the game. Received it that week, played about 10 hours and traded back in. While I'm sure RDR had an effect, early reviews and problems are also a major deciding factor for others.

The career mode is completely stupid and entirely too time consuming to achieve little success (I don't mean this in terms of winning fights, but in terms of learning new moves and upgrading your character). Between that and the submission fighting aspect, many people were turned off that I chatted with on neogaf and @ operationsports.

They said they cleaned these problems up, but clearly under-delivered and their sales show it. Maybe make a better game next time.

Kane & Lynch 2's Dog Days starting a week earlier

Jul 13th 2010 2:00PM (Joystiq)
I had received the original (on ps3) as a gift, and while I understand the "unpolished" complaint, I found the game fun as a whole. And that's what matters most to me.

That said, I also found the game challenging at times, and for some people that's a real turn off. I also love Demon's Souls, so that can give you some perspective of where I'm coming from.
I'm okay with a game that's tough and you have to figure out how an area works by replaying it and doing things right. I get a good sense of accomplishment when I do succeed and that's part of the reason I enjoyed the first game.

The online mode was unique and fracking bad-ass in my opinion, but like you said, it was desolate and that's the only downside I found in it. The multiplayer was soooo killer, but no one played the game cause they got scared off by reviewers. I'll probably gamefly the sequal and hope for the best, if I really enjoy it, I'll keep it.

I haven't followed any info on this game, so I really hope they extend the modes in multiplayer but DEFINITELY keep the original's MP mode.

Someone's going to need to teach you how to shoulder a gun properly. (^_^)

E3 2010 Prediction Bingo: Nintendo

Jun 11th 2010 12:13PM (Joystiq)
Maybe you should just call this "Connect 5", as BINGO doesn't really make any sense. There's nothing in the columns linking them together and they obviously don't all start with the same letter. Picky? Yes. OCD? At times...

Skate 3 trailer takes us to the urban playground

Apr 25th 2010 11:33AM (Joystiq)
I really enjoyed Skate 1. Simply felt that if the series continued it could improve graphical polish and features (most specifically, split-screen free skate play).

Bought Skate2 on the cheap, slightly disappointed with all the security all over the place, but liked the idea of moving environments. Still, required the desired polish to make what was said to be most realistic skating game look a little more realistic. If you're going to have cars driving all over the place, I'd rather them not look like boxes on wheels.

Now this? This is completely off the basis of what the original game was about, no? Just seems too far off the mark, and is probably a dead series at this point. Very disappointed.

Utah game bill one step closer, Thompson speaks to Joystiq

Feb 24th 2009 7:51PM (Joystiq)
The only problem I have with what he's currently working on, is that it relies on the value of the ESRB's rating system. Other than that, I don't see any problem with this sort of bill.
