WRUP: Playin' la Vita loca

Feb 18th 2012 4:57PM (Joystiq)
The Vita oozes straight sex juice......might bite the bullet if I can find a decent game trade in deal (wish I lived in Canada...$100 off for 4 games) for it - only handheld I have is a ds phat from 2005....still works, broken hinge and all.

Playing Rayman Origins on the 360 - great game w/ my sons, although we usually end up hating each other because we missed the ribbon by 2 lums, haha. Also, I'm going to try out the demos for Darkness 2, Amalur, and Mass Effect 3. Can't wait for SSX!

If I was anymore on the fence about whether to buy the Vita or not, I'd be a full time politician.

I JUST CAN'T DECIDE!!!!!!!!!

Insomniac done with Resistance

@The angry pro consumer gaming ga

No, I mean to fill my online shooter/fps desire.

I play plenty of other games. Skyrim, WWE12, Batman Arkham City, Saints Row, NBA 2K12, Assassins Creed are my recent favorite games I've played (or are still playing if we're talking about Skyrim, NBA, and WWE)

About the only genre's I really don't play much of are fighting and racing games.

Insomniac done with Resistance

Let me preface by stating I've never played this series, so what I'm saying is going off of what I hear or see on the internet.

There are way too many shooters out there to continue to span sequels to a mediocre franchise. The first two weren't that great? Why expect a huge increase in sales for a third one when we already have a lot of well established shooters.

Online shooters have become an investment for gamers. We only have so much time and money to play these, why invest more money and time in a different game when you'll get a similar result (ie online deathmatch, ranking up and prestiging a la gears and cod, even halo to some extent) from the 3-4 that you already have.

Who really wants to invest in 3 - 5 shooters, trying to rank them up to level 100 or the max level, when it takes the majority of players months to rank up to said level.

From personal experience, I have two shooters I play, Gears 3 and Halo, and I haven't touched Halo since Anniversary came out. But those two games satisfy my desire for online deathmatch/shooters. Granted, I rent shooters from Gamefly - COD, Battlefield; but I don't want to invest a lot of time increasing rank.

Could it be a sign of the first person shooter genre bubble popping?
