Google provides the api's, other people use these api's to actually make something working.

So no, this is not only google's work.

Most people think it's not necessary to reinvent hot water. Shared resources are a nice thing to have.

Brawl isn't out here, and I'm listening to this almost once a day. Please tell me it is there from the start. Else I'm going to unlock it as soon as I get my hands on the game.

Nintendo tops 2007's Develop 100 list

Hey curmeo, welcome in economics 101
Let's revise yesterdays lessons:
- A successfull strategy is to m... profits while keeping costs as l... as possible.
- In order to sell your product to a large amount of people, you need to enlarge your target g...
- Marketing revolves around d.... (Deception).

Not only nintendo is doing this. Every business is trying to, as they should. Unless you want to open a new shop that doesn't care about profits but just gives stuff away.
Now we got that out of the way, onto another statement.
Has it occurred to you that YOU might be the one who is wrong on the 'casuals will ruin the market' nonsense. Maybe later when you grow up and can't spend as much time as you want behind your games you will notice that everyone becomes a casual gamer at one point. You got your hardcore fix, why start to whine?

The industry is adapting to this new market, maybe you should try to adapt too. Unless you are too busy kicking and screaming because you don't like a product group that is at least 10 times your size.

Possibly the most stupid and inane comment I will probably see today, and the day just started.

Wii getting cell phone shovelware, thanks Gameloft

Mar 27th 2008 11:24AM (Joystiq)
This is not nintendo's fault. It's just that the wii seems to have adopted the audience these shovel-companies aim their products at.

Still thank you for your comment, you sure moved this thread forward in exciting new directions.

Nintendo still dead last in Greenpeace electronics rankings

Just watch this please :p. It tries to explain the two views and puts them side by site. Quite rational.

Be aware, the chance is high that you already saw this :p

Developers don't come in tiers, you see. If you want to program for a system, you'll have to learn it. The easier it is to learn, the better it will be used (see: 360/PC/XNA).

If I have a choice, I'd rather program for an easier interface with decent tools then be forced to program for a complex behemoth. This has nothing to do with 'challenging' yourself, or becoming 'better'. It's just common sense.

World of Goo oozes onto PC and Wii in '08

I really loved tower of goo, even the simple soundtrack. This game has been on my radar for a while.

Let's hope it really shines in the polishing. It's good to have a breath of fresh air
