What was special about DS Mario Kart other than being able to hold it in your hands? If Double Dash had online play it would have been awesome.

You could actually make the pad think that you were insanely fast if you had three people on it at once. Since it didn't matter if you ran on the front, middle, or back set of dots, if you put one person on each it would count every person's steps a if one person was doing all of them. My brother, sister, and I were a world class sprinter.
