I live in Senegal, so I can tell you that what you saw at the airport does not mirror the whole country, not even closely. In fact, just the other day I walked past an Xbox 360 in a store window (the premium version), that I'm now thinking about buying. Nobody actually buys anything from the airport anyway (apart from ignorant tourists), in some weird twist stuff is actually cheaper outside the airport. Gaming wise, we usually get our stuff one or two months after it's available in France.
I think Nintendo could have, and should have done better. No price? No launch date? No sneak peek at the virtual console? Sure we got to see the Wii-mote in action, but that's not nearly enough. They needed to kick major a$$ with this conference, and for me the just haven't done that because too many questions remain.
Oh well, let's see what microsoft has in store for us...
Well Sony just lost me. There's simply no way I'm going to spend $600 for a console (unless it cooks, cleans and does the dishes as well). Guess I'll check back in three years to see that the price is like. Oh well, I really liked my PS2.
Today is gonna decide which next gen console I'll be buying for Xmas, Microsoft or Nintendo.
History repeats itself. Playstation one came out with a standard controller, but after seeing what Nintendo did for the N64, Dualshock was born, ripping off both the analog control and rumble features from the Nintendo. Ten years later, and Sony is at it again.
In the end it's only natural that if someone has a good idea, you'd want to do the same thing. But here's the deal : don't call what the other guy does a gimmick, steal it and then turn around and call it innovation just because you're using it!
