Study shows more support for in-game ads

May 18th 2006 11:20AM (Joystiq)
Not a bad idea. Just don't go making the advertisements tangible in the games (ie soda machine in two crude dudes). People would just start beating up the machines to get their soda.

"You're right. They stole that from Sega.

And they stole that idea from Fuji, dreamt about making it compatible with games and disappeard off the face of the earth before this little rebirth.

Anatomy of shame: Dual Shake vs. Wiimote

it's never a good thing when your eyes make noise..

But really, who cares about "copying" other consoles' features? It just fuels competition if anything. I like what sony is doing, atleast implementing the motion sensing feature allows more room for growth. And let's not forget, they already had the eyetoy, so it's not to say they completely stole the motion sensing idea from nintendo.

Also having tons of 3rd party support already bodes well for sony having motion sensing success coupled with the standard controller gaming success.

Dirk for MVP

May 2nd 2006 6:00AM (Blog Maverick)
I'm really sick of the NBA MVP voting process. It seems like the voters are coming up with new reasons to vote for someone year after year, when the award should really be based on who was the best player that season. The best way to do this in my opinion would be to follow John Hollinger's PER formula, and I'm not really sure why NBA fans haven't adopted it more yet. This season, the best player was Dirk, and I think by the time the playoffs are over we'll remember him as that.

It actually seems like a form of spam, which the radio basically is now.

Time to allow hard drives pre loaded with Music....and change Harry Fox

This could be decent if it has some sort of music recommendation system such as last.fm, but otherwise there would be way too much sifting through unwanted music to make it enjoyable. I think mp3 blogs such as gorillavsbear.net need to be given a shot as a possible way for the recording industry to bring in more cash.
