honestly, i think the n64 controller was perfect for goldeneye.
the middle part of the controller is shaped like the pistol grip of a gun, the z trigger is where the gun trigger would go, and the rumble pack was placed like a virtual gun chamber blowing back.... exquisite really.
im happy it exists, but i didnt exactly think of it as a good game.
killing enemies was just boring; the physics were too stiff, the graphics lent little to the gameplay, level design was chiefly linear and uninteresting given the weapons and enemy ai, i dont even want to think about it anymore.
add the euphoria physics engine and the game could at least ascend to overall average.
"its nail-biting emergent gameplay, assisted by realistic AI, and a truly open world to explore."
i think we played different games, you and i.
i thought engaging enemies was ultimately boring, i felt the ai was weak and uniform, and i thought far cry was much more open than crysis (i liked its level design a lot more, too).
at least this time the enemy is actually affected when shot.

Jun 10th 2010 1:15AM (Joystiq)games @ 480x320 vs 1280x760 vs 1920x1080 are all wholly different.
i wouldnt turn away a handheld metroid fps with tons of volumetric smoke, particle physics and mature ai, though, even at 480x320.

May 11th 2010 8:39PM (Joystiq)my lightly OC'ed 4870 allowed for the very high setting 90% of the game, and i really grew to enjoy the gunplay.
