I'm a writer and would love this for my novel!

This is either dumb or greedy. Netflix is a success because they don't discriminate between systems. If the content is the same, why should I pay more to access it across different platforms?

MLB.TV offers a different alternative: a flat fee for the content, with an upfront fee for apps to access that content. I'd accept that too.

But no, NYT, I don't yet know how I best want to access your content. So rather than pay for one thing or everything, I'll pay for nothing.

I'm very disappointed in how Apple retail stores have handled this launch. It seems that company policy is to tell people to keep checking in, but it's become obvious, at least at the 2 locations nearest me, that the employees resent this policy.

I like Apple products because they're simple and easy. The company usually just gets it. But there's been nothing simple or easy about this launch -- I don't mind not having an iPad, but I do mind a company that is playing cloak and dagger games with customers who genuinely want the product.

Why isn't there a purchase limit? Why isn't there a reservation system? Why isn't there clear information on the phone recordings about the situation? There's a number of things that Apple should have done for a fruitful launch.

I don't mind not having an iPad, but I do mind not getting any assistance whatsoever with the expectation game. At least, in that case, the web store is very clear. The retail locations should learn a thing or two.

I want to be able to choose the color for each calendar. Aggravating to have iPhone use the same colors in my Google Calendar, but to have things clash. Seems like a simple enough request! C'mon, Apple!

Do I need to re-download, or will the demo update itself when I open it again?

I think fair compensation is pretty easy to figure out: one week of downtime = one free week of Live.

I am in the same boat as Tone -- "Billing information received" is all I'm seeing with UPS tracking.
