The Conduit delayed in Europe, Australia [update]

Jun 17th 2009 12:16PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I don't know... if the Multiplayer demo i got to play at E3 is ANY indication, it's NOT going to disappoint. not at all... Mind you,it's not the best game ever, but a very very solid FPS with some AMAZING and hugely customizable controls.

A few Dead Rising

Oct 15th 2008 11:47AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm well aware of what the undead tunnels are supposed to be, i've unlocked all but 3 achivements on DR on my 360... I'm just saying these comparisons are really rather pointless.

The vast majority of the zombies are meaningless, either they're so dense you kill them wholesale and they loose their fear-inducing quality, or they're so far away they really don't matter besides a bit of atmosphere.

Dead Rising CTYD is created using a different graphics engine with different goals in mind, developed with a slightly different mentality, and towards a different end. If the zombies are faster / smarter / more threatening then the literally brainless slugs that the original had, the numbers aren't worse. One smart zombie is worth 500 dumb ones when it can dodge your lawnmower.

It's like saying Warcraft 3 can have more things on the enemies then Doom3 can... two entirely different game engines kinda causes the chance in scale and perspective. As long as they play to RE4's engine's strengths it'll turn out fine.

Rock Band 2: All Rock Band 1 DLC available for Wii, online features confirmed

Oct 15th 2008 10:21AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Man do I love game companies that blatently lie to their customers. "It's impossible to do online gaming on the wii well." Realy? Cause Tiger woods 07 had it...and it worked...really well! No friends codes, nothing annoying like that... it just worked.

No DLC because you don't have enough space? Really? Because Excite Truck accesses MP3s directly off up to 2gigs of SD storage... sounds like plenty of space for a few dozen DLC songs.

A few Dead Rising

Ugh, for the love of pete, I'm getting sick of these comparisons... yes there are fewer zombies on screen in the wii version. Guess what? THE VAST MAJORITY of those zombies are MEANINGLESS sorry, but pretty graphics and lots of animation does not make dead rising...

doing obscene things to a large number of zombies makes dead rising. There are still a lot of zombies, you'll get lots of ways to do horrid things to said zombies. I'm still picking this up, and I'm done reading any of these "side by side" photos comparing promo art and animation from the 360 version to in-game footage of the wii one.

Rumor: Developers describe the Wii successor for 2011

Oct 1st 2008 11:52AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
They didn't "scoff" at high def visuals, they saw it, reasonably, as not practical, considering less then 20% of the marketplace had them at release, and honestly, spending a large chunk of money and increasing the development requirements exponentially for 20% of your users isn't a smart decsion, expecially when it'd raise the price of your system significantly, again for something most people at the time didn't have.

Now that they're more widely available, and the costs of taking advantage of it are markedly lower, lets roll.

and as for the storage medium... ...yeah not defending Nintendo here except to say GAMES CAN ALREADY ACCESS THE SD CARD PERFECTLY FINE: See Excite Truck. it is NO ONES FAULT AT NINTENDO'S that GH3 / RB don't have DLC. Sorry, it's not. Get over it. for the rest of the storage-stuff, yeah, it's Nintendo fault, but not the DLC issues.

Nintendo pleads patience for 'core' games

Aug 26th 2008 4:32PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
exactly what I expected, and nothing to be upset about if you ask me. Third party games are starting to come around, and we've had the first round of major first party titles already roll out and be deeply satisfying.

So, Not only am I not "raging" I'm actually really excited rather than seeing them try to rush something "hardcore" to market they're continuing their slow, fruitful, careful development of their big names.

Though, I'd love to see a Mario Party designed exclusively for the wii / wii motion plus support and the fact that this perenial game isn't on the horizion is kinda...shocking.

Retail and download releases for the week of August 25th

Aug 25th 2008 10:06AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
yeah...as long as square can keep charging full price for re-releasing final fantasy, we're not going to see them on the VC. Ever. so stop holding your breath for them

Wii Warm Up: Your thoughts on Strong Bad's first episode

Aug 12th 2008 9:58AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Defiantly not a cash in, this was made with love for the fans as a total fan service straight through. I'm curious if they make the game more deep / challenging / broad as the games go on. Brothers Chaps have never been ones not to push themselves, I'm going to bet they're pushing the telltale team pretty hard to do some fun stuff.

in a point and click adventure? Yeah...that makes it pretty easy... Though I'm not sure how hard I want it to be, considering "Challenge" in point and clicks usually means taking every item and clicking on everything else....

It's not bad, i'm a bit stuck, but i turned hints down to low because you guys said it was painfully easy in your review. I'm enjoying wandering around and trying everything i can think of though, that's fun!
