Peter Molydeux is not Peter Molyneux, and other revelations

@pluupy

He's the guy who says things like:
"You know, my dream for gaming is where in one game you'll shoot someone and then during a game of say Fifa you'll see their son crying"

Batman gets a big head in this Arkham City Easter egg

Nov 16th 2011 8:37PM (Joystiq)
Sheesh. First, they over sexualise Catwoman. Then, when it comes to choosing parts to make bigger for the easter egg, they miss out on the obvious two choices.

A little consistency, that's all I'm asking for.

(for the humour deprived, yes, I am joking).

Shameful the number of entries that were using cute kids for scoring extra on the cute factor.

Mind you, they were very cute.

Preview new bonuses for the old games in the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection

About the US packaging for ICO, I'm sure that Team ICO has no say in this at all. It's not their style. Blame the managers at Sony USA. The cover has all the trappings of being designed by committee.

Still, I'd love to see the video of Team ICO seeing the US cover for the first time. The look of horror would be entertaining.

My japanese isn't great, but I thought that the japanese for 2 is "ni".

Still, your point about "nico" stands.

Hang out with Felicia Day in Dragon Age 2: Mark of the Assassin DLC

Sep 17th 2011 7:10PM (Joystiq)
@Scnew

I've only seen her in Legend of Neil. She was damn funny! Very expressive in the way she delivered her lines. Hammed it up a tad, but it was deliberately done, and it suited the show.

Great looks don't really matter anyway. It's who the person is that counts. Felicia seems to be a good sort, and she has a geeky tendency. That makes her interesting. I wouldn't mind hanging out with her. Just like I wouldn't mind hanging out with any other decent girl that is a little geeky.

ICO and Shadow of the Colossus has reversible boxart, Last Guardian not at TGS

@Ruinkind

Actually, I think the ICO cover represents the basic gameplay fairly well. For instance, were I to see this in the store, I'd guess that the game was a platformer type, that it involved escape in some way, and there was a partnership in the escape.

The gameplay is represented in the artwork, but on a more abstract level than blatantly showing the actual game. Plus, this cover would guarantee to get my attention way more in a game store, because of its simpleness, and because of its contrast to the many other covers already on the shelves.

Dead Island day-one patch detailed; Steam version to be replaced

Often, the person who OKs the release is under the thumb of management to get it out, pronto! Does this mean it's still their fault? Yeah, sure it does. Does this mean that management should shoulder some responsibility? I think so.

Should the person be fired for it? That's a bit harsh. Do you really want to encourage a fall guy mentality? Let him or her learn from their mistake. If they make the same mistake again, then they can go.

Double Fine's 'Amnesia Fortnight' game design jams saved the company

@PossibleCabbage

People bought it. Just not enough people.

I bought the PS2 version. It was a horrible port. Sound bugs, freezing issues, long load times, and it didn't even support widescreen! I loved playing the game, but at times I was so frustrated with the bugs, it negated most of the enjoyment I got from it.

@This Little Man Says His Name Is

The Fosters that is sold in the US (and presumably the UK) is made in Canada, so it's probably better quality.
