Gamespotting is Jeff Gerstmann formerly of Gamespot. Slightly unsuitable now, though Ill doubt he would be willing to change it and give up all those hard earned gamer points.

Problem is I doubt it ever will be 'confirmed'. Seems to be too much legalitiies stopping anyone from speaking the whole truth.

I am a gamspot moderator I can catagorically say that it is not true that we have been told to "squelch any discussion of the controversy". All we have done is tried to localise the discussion in one place to stop it totaly overwhelming the boards. AS we do with any big news story or review.

I know from a few of the people at gamespot it was much appreciated.

So lets end the 1up trying to bring down gamespot conspiracy theories right now.

Well I'm a moderator for the forums there, suffice to say we are not happy either. I am still waiting for the bigger picture to unfold before I take any drastic actions.

I wonder how much of that will still ring true after this is all over and done with. I cannot believe that some angry advertisers could ever cost gamespot more revenue than this giant PR disaster is going to.

That's his personal 360 account. It doesnt tell you anything. They use office systems to review games.

Jeff Himself, a points fanatic, has complained numerous times over the fact he had to replay games he has reviewed in order to get the points for his main account.

Adam Bunchen originally had a blog post asking all those who were cancelling their accounts to post within. He then made a running total of how much Gamespot were losing over the whole affair.

That however was subsequently removed, it had reach over $4,000 at last count. That was very early in, God knows what it would be by now!

The difference between Eidos and gamespot is the community staff at gamespot had the foresight to warn the moderators (off which I am one) of the impending s***storm.

So we have managed to both allow dsicussion on the issue and still maintain some sense of normality.
