Refusing to localize and publish Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower in North America could be viewed as abandoning the Wii platform and the "core" gamers Nintendo is allegedly trying to win back, so it's difficult to take Reggie's claims (or anything coming from NoA PR) seriously.

The Nintendo development teams still make amazing games (e.g. Super Mario Galaxy 2, Zelda: Skyward Sword), but the company's business departments, both in Japan and in America, do not seem to be performing nearly as well in the last few years.

As for DLC: It's unfortunate that companies like Capcom have turned DLC into a four-letter word because there are still many other companies that provide terrific DLC at reasonable prices. Those DLC packs just don't tend to get as much attention as character color packs, weapon skins, or horse armor.

If there's a day one demo of this AND if the game is $10, this will very likely be my next PSN purchase.

@kazD It's a great game, but I recommend adding it to an Amazon Wish List, watching the price for a few weeks, and picking it up when it goes on sale. I paid $15 for it and it was well worth that price, but I couldn't recommend it at full price when it's essentially a "best of" collection with improved graphics and a few new levels.

Does this mean Keita Takahashi is involved with this project?

The last Katamari game he worked on directly was We Love Katamari. Many critics shared opinions that all following games in the franchise (Beautiful Katamari, Katamari Forever, etc.) lacked some of that creative spark that made the first two titles so much fun.

Wikipedia lists Takahashi as having joined Tiny Speck in Vancouver, but if he's working on or at least consulting on Katamari Damacy Vita, that would definitely increase my interest in the game. Otherwise, I'll wait and see how the game is received by critics.

At $249 for the base handheld plus $30 minimum for internal storage plus however much for a protective case, I'll likely have to pass on the Vita even if Takahashi is working on Katamari Vita. :(

But to those with greater wealth than me, I bid you play the games you enjoy in good health. :)

Just called the local Toys R Us and they were out of the PS3 bundles. :(

Did any other news site report this before Joystiq? Seems like their bloggers have been a tad slow lately but Joystiq is the only major gaming blog I check regularly.

@harusame I had a similar question: If two people have separate accounts on the same PS3 console, do they both get to select 2 free games? Both users' personal information was stolen, so it only seems fair--and logical, since PSN accounts (to my knowledge) aren't tied to a single console.
