Just looked at lists of games and realized I LOVE many Squaresoft games and I LOVE many Enix games, but there's maybe 1 or 2 (at most)Square-Enix inhouse-developed games that I even remotely like. That merger resulted in an inferior company compared to the greatness of each separately. Again, if Level-5 is not involved, I have zero interest in this game. SE has burned me on what I felt were terrible games and made me feel that I wasted my hard-earned money too many times to give them another chance.

15 yrs ago SE was on top of the world. For who knows what reason (poor management, talented employees leaving, etc?) IMO they are a shell of their former glory. If Level-5 is involved I'm still extremely interested, but if it's just SE, no thank you.
In the last 15 yrs, for me personally, every one of their games I bought that they programmed INHOUSE I later regretted the purchase upon playing the game. They're all technically proficient and visually impressive, but just lack that "fun" factor for me.

I would take being sued in a heartbeat over jail time. Worst case scenario when you're sued you claim bankruptcy. While that's not fun, it's surmountable and not the end of the world. Jail time however means time away from friends, loved ones, family, missing your kids grow up, criminal record so now getting a job is harder, some states don't allow felons to vote, not to mention the hell that prison can dish up with the gangbangers, skinheads, and whatever other groups you have to deal with. Yea, jail sucks and this bill would turn a civil lawsuit into a criminal act. No thank you!

You clearly don't understand the implications in the changes. Right now copyright infringement is a civil crime. Break it and you get sued (and definitely no jail time at all). This bill will make it a criminal felony where you can go to jail for it. HUGE difference!

This law would be darn near impossible to enforce. Here's another categry nobody's mentioned that would be affected by this bill: PORN.

With a huge chunk of the internet being made up of porn and a huge chunk of that porn being copyrighted, is the US government going to send all those porn webmasters to jail for 5 yrs?
