Eco-Box: a greener way to protect games

Dec 1st 2009 4:17PM (Joystiq)
I hate these.

I think it's a good idea to use less plastic on something that you'll throw away right after buying it, but I keep my games in the damn cases! I want them to be sturdy. If you grab these cases by the cover, or place something on top of them, you risk ruining the game art.

These are showing up on blu-ray cases too. Plus, a movie I bought also came in a thick cardboard sleeve that's probably just as wasteful, and which I threw away as soon as I opened the package. How 'bout getting rid of those?

Don't piss on me as tell me it's raining. Companies are trying to save money, and they spin it by saying that they are doing it for the environment.

This whole scene seems strangely staged to me.

Though I might just not watch enough reality TV.

Yeah, I have to agree, this post is badly written and seems to assume knowledge of previous articles on the subject.

Dude, $10 for and emulated ROM is robbery. $10 for a brand new game is AWESOME! I can't wait!

Watching your TV online? More ads are coming

May 6th 2008 5:02PM (AOL TV)
The whole reason there is really high ad recall rates with online viewing is there is only one, short, commercial every 15 minutes or so. When you start adding more, you are going to dilute ad retention rate. People will go off and do something else for that 1-2 minute block (go to the bathroom, or mute their sound to go check their email).

I thought it was smart to only have one quick commercial that people will pay attention to. What they should to is raise the rates on the shorter ads, rather than simply adding more.

Riker replies, "I'm not going to lie to you, Worf: we all know that if there's anything funky going on down there, you're just going to get your ass kicked. So I'm sending the Boy Wonder and his giant brain instead."

Classic. Nice to you have you back Wil.
