It probably smells like "updog" to people coming in for the first time. What's updog? I don't know, what's up with you?

Naughty Dog invents the missing Uncharted chapter at PAX East

Mar 28th 2010 10:41PM (Joystiq)
This is great. What if they did this for real? Give us an Uncharted Directors Cut. Include all the upgraded visuals and game mechanics from Uncharted 2 along with this chapter and maybe one more that branches 1 to 2. I'd buy that.

Engadget HD Holiday Giveaway (part I): Sling Media's Slingbox PRO-HD

Jan 1st 2009 1:19PM (Engadget HD)
I want a sling. I heard it works well with my Dish Network. In fact, I heard they bought them (which I still can't believe). I wish Dish Network would buy a designer to fix their brand and more importantly a UI designer to fix their horrible DVR UI.

But in the meantime, I want a sling.

Hmm, maybe my all time favorite movie one be nice: Blade Runner.

Netflix implements $1 per month Blu-ray premium charge

Oct 8th 2008 2:09PM (Engadget HD)
While a $1 seem too bad, I don't really get why there's an upcharge on Blu-Ray. Amazon usually sells Blu-Ray discs for the same price as regular discs. Sometimes even cheaper. And since they're discs, it's not like Netflix has to do anything different in their production flow. So why do we have to pay extra just to have Blu-Ray? I only see this as Netflix finding a reason to charge more.

Now I do think a $1 extra to access Netflix online is worth it though and makes sense for them to encode and serve up the movies. I just wish this service would roll out on more platforms: Macs, Apple TV, PS3, etc. Not just XBox 360 and PCs.

It's still a deal in our book, $149 360 HD DVD player

Dec 7th 2007 12:09AM (Joystiq Xbox)
Yes, a great deal on this but these HD-DVD add-ons are ridiculously loud. They make your XBOX 360 sounds quiet. Who would make a drive that's so loud that you can't hear the movie you're trying to watch over it. I returned mine from Amazon and I guess I'm waiting it out now for which format is going to win out. Which is totally dumb. So trust me, these aren't worth it. You'll be disappointed at how loud they are.
