Ah, I assumed it was sort of tongue-in-cheek, but there just seemed to be a lot of resentment towards the actually game. Personally, I could care less about Halo 3 - I mean, the first one was decent and all, but I didn't even bother to pick up the third, so it is doubtful this one will make its way into my library.
Honestly, am I the only one who actually wants to play Crackdown. As far as graphics, it may not be the flashiest game out there, but it doesn't look bad, and the comic-like appearence certainly seems to fit, from what I've heard of the story. And, as for the gameplay, well, it's sandbox, so I'm there anyways...I just can't believe people are so hard on this game. I mean, really, what is so wrong with it, I'm not sure?
Oh yeah, I've done that...in fact, I've just given up, I now call them Pokemon whenever anyone asks me about the game, my brain is on default now. Still, it is a great game - a nice mix between Pokemon and Harvest Moon - but the Live functionality is quite limited. Then again, the entire game is rather limited - would it have been too much to ask to be able to explore that island, go on a little hunter-gatherer quest for some more rare items? Would have been a lot better if you had to observe these things in the wild to figure out what they need, but perhaps that is just me.
Well I think there might be some monkey business going on here, too, Nintendo has no one to blame for all these people dancing around like idiots except for themselves - I mean, you all have seen those Wii Experience videos, right? Next time Nintendo shows own, it should include the small print, "closed course, professional driver, do not attempt."
Though I might be what you would call a Nintendo fanboy, I don't really have too much against Sony or the PS3, and I have to admit, this games seems like it might be rather fun. Of course, I enjoy hack 'n' slash more than most people, but it is nice to just sit back and enjoy a game that is pure, mindless fun. I've considered picking up the PSP games more than once, but the reviews have always held me back, so I'd be interested to see what they could do on a console.
Of course, nice as the game might be, I still don't think it justifies the price tag...not yet, anyways. If the system gets a lot of great games - mindless fun or otherwise - then more power to the people who bought it. For me, though, what we are getting with the Wii is just fine with me considering the price (not to mention some guaranteed great games from Nintendo, at least).
Ah, I was wondering how player movement would work - in all the media I've seen for the game, the players (the living players, not their game counterparts) only have the freehand Wii remote. I suppose that's okay, though, I guess it adds more to the pick-up and play aspect of the system, appealing to all ages and all. Still, I kind of hope that there will be more advanced options, one that lets more experienced players connect the Nanchuk and move themselves around...just for a little extra challenge, you know?
