To be honest, the only good reason to keep a Wii around if your a hardcore gamer would be because of the virtual console downloads.
And pray that once in a while a third party makes a game that's good (NoMoreHeroes) or ports a good game (RE4, Deadrising).

Personally, the system is kinda forgotten next to my 360 and PS3 for main games...Nintendo IP's have been published and most likely we wont see another Metroid since retro studios moved on from development for the time being, Mario Kart history says that they are only published once per system, Zelda even though ported from a GC most likely we wont see another one for a good 3 years if we are lucky (maybe a Four Swords Adventures at least, that game was good on GC and GBA), and Mario, well Mario doesn't spin my gears like before...

i guess Miyamoto's comment is true after all...hardcore gamers were not the target anymore...or at all...oh well i guess i can keep on playing Mario Kart and Smash Bros Brawl right?? Riiiight.

Sorry Ninty...but the joy you gave me when i discovered you and became a gamer is dying little by little with your modern day focus on what you consider priority...casual gaming...
Let's not forget you have practically killed the GameBoy in favor of a casual gaming portable device and one baby step at a time you are changing your vocabulary in your announcements so that we become comfortable with your business directive and casual game releases...learn something from Capcom and pull a crazy stunt like them...throw a bone at us, give us an excuse to jump and stomp again, i would like to test my timing skills and button pressing again, i would lie to platform or level up a-la-old times on my Wii.

i for one miss the GB brand...
with the full backwards compatibility hardware.

if they are never gonna release a succesor for fear of cannibalizing the original DS...then move on to the next gen with a new portable console called the "Gameboy DS"...with backwards compatibility with current DS games if possible a GBA slot even if games stick out even more...

most likely will never happen like that though...
and then again most likely we'll never see another Gameboy again...so hold on tight to your dear GBA SP because that might be the last real GB ever...
