Bioshock had a nice atmosphere, but i didn't even get through the game because the standard gameplay bored me out of my mind. Crysis was a lot of fun to play, the orange box (portal and TF2 in particular) was great. So how the hell can the bioshock win when two superior shooters were released?
Crysis was better, the orange box was definatly a MUCH better package and mario galaxy was a lot more fun too. But the boring shooter has to win. :/
Bleh, don't like Bioshock winning at all. The setting was great, but the gameplay wasn't all that original imo. It's another linear shooter where you have to run through hallways en kill everything that stands in your was. Sure, you get to choose wether or not to kill the little sisters, but that doesn't affect the gameplay all that much.
I liked Crysis & portal a LOT better. Portal had very original gameplay, although it was extremely short. Crysis gave you freedom. Yes, you still had to go from checkpoint to checkpoint, but you had dozens of way to do that. When entering a huge camp, you have lots of 'entry points' you could choose. And then you could choose to for stealth or action and pick your power accordingly. But i HIGHLY recommend only playng crysis on DELTA difficulty level. It actually affects the gameplay a lot (for the better).
I won't call bioshock a bad game, but i stopped about halfway when i realised the last couple of hours were just a grind for me, i was bored. I did want to see the story progress, but running through hallways and killing eveything (wether with guns or powers, all the same imo) got boring.
Haven't played COD4 yet, but i don't really like the concept of an on rail shooter. But hey, if they really did such a great job, maybe i'll love it.
