EA still in running for The Consumerist's Worst Company in America

Mar 30th 2012 2:39AM (Joystiq)
@gumbie7

While I agree that having Sony there and not Microsoft is rather confusing.
(See my other post on the last page with the 3 links about MS being hacked, etc...)
I dont believe that all of Microsoft is horrible.

why the hell am I still unverified? Been using this site for years now.

SimCity requires internet connection to play, will be sold outside of Origin

@Scuffles

"ALMOST 100%"

see the problem there?

some people (like me) prefer playing games like this on trips/ vacations where internet is not readily available.
Putting online in is fine, forcing it online is different.
And some people don't know how to crack games, and the fact that the rest will have to do it to play the damn game is insanity.

@Prince David

More people shop at walmart than gamestop.

Which is why it won.

Sony was on there for the hack and a clause that stops class-action lawsuits... That makes no sense!

I think MS was/is hacked. They just dont admit it.

I also think they added the same clause to their terms.

"Opting out not allowed"

At least Sony allowed you to send a letter in.

How is Microsoft not on this list?

That resolution on a screen that size is rather overkill though.

Just my $0.02

Mass Effect 3 player feedback spawns 'content initiatives,' details in April

Mar 21st 2012 2:05PM (Joystiq)
@iceveiled

Not to burst your bubble or anything but Bioware/EA were probably already planning on doing this before the game even launched.
And yes, consumers have a right to be pissed about what they spend their money on. (And US$60+ is a good chunk of change)
Say I sell you a box of "specialty" raisins for $10 and inside there is only a dead cockroach. Would you be pissed? Too bad.

SO after everyone dies in those huge explosions... Mass Effect will continue? Have fun guys!
Unless the "real ending" is paid DLC.
The fact that they are going to announce more in April means that they have probably finished or are close to finishing it. Meaning it was planned this way.
I'm all for people buying what they want, but Shame on anyone who buys this.

I say that because even if 200,000 people buy the "ending" for $5 its still $1,000,000 extra. Then other companies take note and before you know it every game will be sold with no ending just credits and big words: "prepare for DLC". They are hurting everyone who games by supporting this crap.

its not like gaming isn't expensive enough as is...

Ninja Gaiden 3 users report trouble redeeming Online Passes

Mar 20th 2012 8:31PM (Joystiq)
@lazerbyte

Problem is that nothing is going to stop the pirates.

They will ALWAYS be there.
And this is not trying to combat the pirates, its combating used game sales. Which IMHO is a fundamental part of gaming, and has existed since the dawn of video games.

All this is doing is inconveniencing new buyers and making less people want to buy their crap.
And if you stop and think... maybe if they used less crap like this, less people would be tempted to pirate it in the first place.
