Hybrid tax credit for Toyota models slowly going away

Jul 23rd 2006 6:37PM (Autoblog Green)
I read in today's (Sunday) LA Times that the credit will go down by the fall, according to most estimates. Are you positive they have sold 60,000 or are they getting close? Is the Times incorrect or is the EV website incorrect?

Thanks,
Erik

2004 Honda Civic hybrid still reliable in the mpg department

May 30th 2006 2:03PM (Autoblog Green)
I have a 2003 Civic Hybrid and I drive fairly reliably at 65-70 mph and routinely get 46-48 mpg. On a trip from San Francisco to LA, driving freeway at those speeds, we got 47 mpg. I don't think there are many gas only cars that can do that!

Wii impressions: the E3 experience

I wonder if we all haven't come to rely a bit too much on the opinon of others in making decisions about these things. Some of the comments were clearly from people who played the games and others weren't. I did not play any of the games but you can bet that I can't wait to try this thing out for myself.

I think tying it out for ourselves is the only way we are going to be able to figure out if we like it. James' opinion is well informed, but James and I and you probably have different tastes (in terms of games we like, controllers we're partial to, etc...).

If we stopped worrying about how everyone else interprets something and focus on our own issues, much of this discussion, and others like it, would dissapear.

Wii controller impressions: day 2

May 11th 2006 11:33PM (Joystiq)
I have enjoyed reading all the comments here as there is a lot of good back and forth. I think, ultimately, as others have said, we are going to have to make the determination of whether we like the control on our own. I expect that demos won't be perfect and I also expect that in the next 4-6 months many of the kinks that joystiq, arstechnica, and ign found will be worked out of the good games. Let's face it, there are good and bad games with any system. Some of the ones that were demo'd may ultimately fall into the bad or so-so camp. Personally, I am very excited by the Wii and the direction Nintendo is going. Even if the Wii doesn't work, which I think is highly unlikely, then at least the industry can say, "We tried it."
