I agree with Ashitaka...I'm guessing that of the 10+ million people who played COD4, a pretty small percentage check gaming news sites.

This is a pretty bold move for IW to drop the name that made them famous. They are really locking themselves into this particular storyline unless they plan to go back and make another COD game at some point.

However, I don't disagree with their choice, seeing as how the COD name has been watered down by switching back and forth between WW2 and Modern Warfare for the past few iterations.

The lack of specifics worries me that this game is a very long ways off.

I'm hoping for a game that would be something in the vein of No One Lives Forever (at least in atmosphere, if not gameplay).

I think what you are referring to is the pub fund.
I'm pretty sure they only split development costs if the game is PSN exclusive, so these games wouldn't apply.

Began reading PS3 Fanboy daily (linked from my Google homepage) about a month before I bought my PS3 in the summer (July) of 2007.

Your reasons for hating Sony are your own, but the consensus amongst most Sony haters (typically XBox lovers) seems to be that Sony is some evil corporation that everyone hates because of their arrogance and greed.

What I don't understand, and would love an explanation on, is what XBox lovers consider Microsoft. Are they not equally arrogant and as greedy as Sony?

Isn't Microsoft the corporation that released the same Windows OS with different coats of paint on it for the past 10-12 years, and charged $100 each time?

Aren't they the company that released a console that was clearly not ready for market (RRoD), just so they could get a head start on Sony and Nintendo?

Don't read this post the wrong way...I love my 360 games. But I never feel good about giving Microsoft any money.
