Kia prices 2010 Forte Koup at $16,595*

Nice looking car, but how it is reliability, economy, and performance vs a Honda Civic? (Only reason I'm using Honda Civic specifically is because it's pretty much the benchmark of all small sedans/coupes).

REPORT: Honda could stretch out product cycles to save costs

Sep 3rd 2009 4:33PM (Autoblog)
I've argued for years for longer lifecycles. I personally would MUCH rather buy a late model over an early model because I know that many more of the bugs have been worked out. Instead of focusing on new designs I feel that the manufacturers should put their efforts into improving existing designs. Only change it when there are enough significant changes to warrant a re-design.

Ultimately, this would give the consumer a better quality vehicle at a lower cost.

Air Force acquisition programs are designed to create a successful product. Military systems undergo much more rigorous and thorough testing than almost any civilian program - thus they take longer and cost more. However, they also provide a more robust product as they are designed for military use. Every stage is evaluated by both the contractor and the military to ensure success - this is often a lengthy process.

This is what happens when you keep throwing free money at a business. There is no incentive to succeed.

Mimo's 710-S 'Mobile Slider' USB monitor gets low... real low

I like this idea - especially paired with a pocket-size computer. Except for the USB cable running to the PC, this could be a viable alternative for eBooks and give me some (limited) portable gaming (DosBox and emulation stuff). Also, I love the idea for a car-puter.

8-track Walkman makes the 70's portable, more funky

@ProfessorDex> Not having to rewind 8-Tracks sounds pretty good. Especially when you consider this... http://mediahora.wordpress.com/2008/01/10/dvd-rewinder/

Nice. I could probably put that to good use. Interesting idea....

SCE: PSPgo's 480MHz clock speed references USB, not CPU

Jul 6th 2009 1:27PM (Engadget)
OH, THANK GOODNESS!!

I thought for a second that Sony did something new there... upgrading the CPU!

Whew! Everything normal... Sony's still stuck in a rut.

Sad really....

Sony hints at "non-game apps" for PSP

Jun 25th 2009 2:51PM (Engadget)
My PSP is used almost exclusively for reading eBooks via Bookr. Just plain old .txt files. Nothing fancy. But it sure beats lugging a real book around and is awfully convenient for night reading. Beyond that, my PSP gets some use for emulation. Last time I actually played a PSP game? months... can't even remember when.

PSP Go Home. Sony, if you are listening (for the first time EVER), this is what we want
(1) touchscreen (you can't deny the utility of a touchscreen!)
(2) 2nd analog nub (if you _really_ care about the "games")
(3) updated CPU (come on, newer processors are easily 3-4 times faster)
(4) clamshell design to protect the screen (ala Nintendo DS. I _hate_ having to baby my PSP to avoid scratching the screen. The DS is "pocketable" because I don't have to worry about the screen in addition to its size)

Epson's WUXGA HTPS-TFT Panel hints at ultra-bright, high-contrast PowerLite projectors in September

Heck yeah! I am glad I skipped the whole LCD/Plasma scene. I'll hold out a while longer and my next TV will be a projector! That is... assuming the bulbs have reasonable life and are reasonably priced.
