Happy Halloween! You're banned from Xbox Live.

@Gregory Christopher
Actually, you have no rights. Just a set of temporary privileges. That includes your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. If you don't agree, just look up Japanese Americans 1942.

No matter what SpyderTaco might say, please do not add 'girlfriend' to your list. Some family trees need to be pruned

Harmonix CEO wants an Amplitude sequel for PS3

I loved Frequency and Amplitude. Now, if they can bring that gameplay with the functionality of Audiosurf, that would be awesome. Especially with streaming music from your pc instead of just the tracks they choose. It is a shame that Sony owns the rights, this should be available to everyone.

Cross-platform multiplayer free on Xbox 360 [update: limited-time only]

I wouldn't be surprised if playing online becomes free for the silver account holders. They seem to be planning a bunch of new perks for gold subscription holders like their partnership with Netflix. But don't be surprised if you start seeing more in game advertising and more advertising on your new version of the dashboard for silver accounts.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 trailer shows off new weapons

Watch the trailer again. The gun is an AK 74u not the AK 47. I know it is hard to read the subtle difference like a transposed number.

Major Nelson speaks about recent Xbox Live issues

I don't see how live 'shoves' ads in our faces. On tv, you are either watching your program or watching commercials. On live, the ads are in a box somewhere on the dashboard(or in games like Crackdown, on billboards) and you don't get an interruption of your game. It is just there and you can ignore it if you want. I don't see anyone complaining about television commercials considering the fact that advertising funds your programs. So live makes some money selling ads that are unobtrusive and in no way interrupt your game time. So what, that is a much better business model for consumers.
Yes, this outage is unacceptable considering this is a time of year that people get a chance to play their games. People get time off from work or school and have the opportunity to play around the holidays. A week of downtime is significant to people like that and there should be some form of compensation.
And as for the online service, Live is the best of the three. The Wii has no online multiplayer and the PSN is still growing. I think it can become as good or better than Live but for the time being, it is inferior. Being free isn't good enough to overcome what it lacks. Their network also hasn't been tested by the same user demands that Live has to deal with. When the numbers are comparable, then try arguing about service. Until then you are comparing apples to cats.

Now, quit complaining about the ads and come up with a compelling argument. Preferably one based in fact.

Analyst: PS3 will catch up to Wii by 2011

Dec 10th 2007 10:47PM (Joystiq)
The graph is actually showing year end figures. So where it says 2007, it is showing year end for 2007. So he is estimating that by year end of 2008, the PS3 will catch up to the Xbox360. Either way, this is complete crap. Nintendo will only continue on its current growth if they have the software to support it. And the PS3 will not grow unless it gets some software to support it and continues to improve its online capabilities. A price drop and adding achievements wouldn't hurt either. The 360 curve seems to be the most realistic unless they go after a much broader demographic. They are making strides with the addition of some good rpgs but they seem to cater too much to the hardcore gamer.
