I think I'll pick this up. It's no more expensive than the official GC controller I was going to buy off Nintendo's site, or that I would get at Best Buy, it's a nice white and it has a longer cord. Sold.

Bestbuy.com and Wikipedia both list the Arcade at $279.99 USD, and the Pro at $349.99 USD, same as the above-quoted new Canadian prices. This price drop equalizes the Canadian and US prices.

Um, no. Previously, the Canadian price for the 360 Elite was $499, while the American one was $449. This was because the Canadian dollar used to be significantly weaker than the American one.

Now, with this price drop, they are priced the same at $449, because the currencies are at parity.

The big advantage of a government rating system is that it is a decision of an administrative body, which can be appealed to the court system, and has to follow certain legal requirements in rating the games. As opposed to when the MPAA or ESRB rate your movie/game, and there's nothing you can do about it legally if you don't like the rating they give.

I have absolutely no problem with government supervision/rating of any cultural product here in Canada or in the UK. I'd be very wary of it if I was an American, given how much more conservative and religious the culture in that country is, and how much more politically active such groups are.

I would really love to see an IGF finalist compilation on Steam. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
