Halo 3 was more overhyped than GTA4. Halo 3 Mountain Dew, Halo 3 chips, Halo 3 slushies at 7-11, Halo 3 "Believe" campaign, commercials everywhere, etc., etc., etc. At least GTA4's hype was well-deserved.
Also, you contradicted yourself when talking about Portal: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=innovation
Doesn't that sound similar to the word "original?"
I don't think that word defines Halo 3.
