Watching Milla Jovovich do anything compels me to kill kittens.

I liked the first Red Steel. Not perfect, but I thought its flaws were more endemic of FPS as a genre rather than something RS itself did wrong...

Except for the more advanced swordplay combos. They just didn't work. But I still did have fun playing through the game with the simpler sword moves.

How well does it work? I tried the built-in transcription software in Adobe Premiere earlier this year, and it is TERRIBLE! What % correct would you estimate... particularly with accented English?

Those LDs were 560×480 progressive-scan, so an uprez wouldn't be a problem...

But the transport mechanism on the PS3 isn't as responsive as on the old LDs, so the game would have to load the video branches into memory so there wouldn't be unplayable lag.

I'd like a PS3, but I really want one with full backwards compatibility. Looks like I may have missed my chance.

For a PS3 like they make now, that doesn't play ps2 games, I'd be willing to pay $199, $250 max. Then I wouldn't feel like a chump leaving my PS2 sitting next to the new PS3 in my entertainment center...
