Hands-on: Heavy Rain introduces Scott Shelby

Sep 6th 2009 4:04PM (Joystiq)
Well as you can read you have plenty of different ways to resolve this scene plus there are 4 different characters and each of them can die and steer the story in a different direction. If that works well there should be enough replay value.

Firmware 3.00 blamed for malfunctioning PS3 controllers

Sep 2nd 2009 6:07PM (Joystiq)
I would try to press and hold the PS button and then reassign the controller slot? Sounds to me the controller is set to a controller port above 4 and that renders the thing usually "unusable" until the console is booted up and the you press and hold the PS button to reassign to a controller port between 1-4.

Final Fantasy XIV Online is due out in 2010

Jun 2nd 2009 7:18PM (Joystiq)
I guess that`s the point, with MS always pushing Xbox LIVE and how great all the things are there while Sony is getting now the first MMORPG for next gen consoles.

Final Fantasy XIII producer looking into downloadable demo for the West

May 6th 2009 3:00PM (Joystiq)
"We are going to carry on with the project alongside the Xbox version, so we really can't just make it available only for the PS3,"

Means translated something like:

"We signed a deal with MS and got a lot of money to make that game also for the 360 and somewhere in that contract it is written we can`t put the demo for only one system out in US or EU."

Something like that or similar as Square makes no money if the Demo can be downloaded, but get`s a good amount of money from Advent Children sales because it`s included. We all love money including Square so the contract with MS is the only reason I see that`s preventing them from adding the Demo in the Advent Children US or EU release.

FFXIII is not going to be released in Japan on the Xbox 360. :D

The main movie has English Audio as option, but there are no English subtitles. The Bonus stuff so the On the way to smile OVA is Japanese only, same goes for the Demo, although in regards for playing the demo it`s easy to figure out what you have to do even if you don`t speak Japanese.

Fuel turbos to retail May 2009 (plus: first in-game trailer)

Ehm TOCA, Colin McRae Rally, Operation Flashpoint, Grid? Are those games ring any bells?

MGS4 cast has identity issues, holds group therapy session

Jan 3rd 2009 9:10AM (Joystiq Playstation)
To bad Otacon didn`t ask Dr. Sadie if love can bloom on the Battlefield. :)

But there are some very nice lines, when Hayter talkes about CQC people on the street and asks if he can hold a 18 minute long monologue, or the guy who voices Raiden that he doesn`t have a junk. And of course the Mark 2.

Wonder if the point where the raiden guy takes the chair of hayter was a homage to the MGS4 teaser trailer.

Without watching the video and only listen it`s quite funny like a strange codec conversation. :D

Insomniac's Ted Price says multiplatform development is 'fantastic'

Nov 15th 2008 12:13AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Not sure if money is in that case a big factor for going multiplatform. I`m sure Sony will pay at the moment a lot of the development costs (going multiplatform would mean they have to pay more of that on there own) and there also already a lot of PS3s out there. Besides of that I`m not sure if there games would perform to good on other consoles, same goes of course also the other way around when it comes to a former long time Xbox only dev team when they make games for other consoles. Unless it is a generic game title it might not appeal to the audience of the other consoles.

GH: World Tour snatches up new Oasis album DLC

Oct 18th 2008 12:16PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Well the 3 songs missing from the Nevermind album are by far the 3 most well known songs of the album and GH DLC is often only 3 songs so it makes sense to assume that Activision was maybe faster to secure the songs and leave EA only with the other songs from the album. Compared to the GH3 DLC it is indeed "impressive" that so much DLC is already announced.

For RB2 you could also argue that a lot those songs that are already out as DLC are already played to death. Besides if someone prefers one game over another then he can do it, like you apparently prefer RB over GH. You can`t compare the total amount of RB DLC with the amount of GH4 DLC, that`s like comparing the amount of content you get with a MMO like WoW including all of it`s patches and Add-Ons compared to one that`s just released.

I welcome the rising effort of making GH4 DLC compared to what they did for GH3.
