The Soapbox: Debunking the first kiss theory
May 24th 2011 8:53PM (Massively)So, the article can be summarized as "My opinion is objective fact. Here's one arbitrarily stacked example that proves it."
If anything, I'll point to people to this article when they think that rose-colored glasses don't exist, as yours is the very definition of the phrase.
The Guild Counsel: To vent or not to vent
Apr 1st 2011 5:44PM (Massively)Most people don't use voice, so maybe most people playing MMOs are 14-year-olds with peer pressure issues.

Mar 31st 2011 3:56PM (Massively)Now, more seriously, chat is what most games will continue to support more and more as bandwidth becomes more available and no having a microphone is a poor excuse for not talking as they cost as little as $8 at Wal-Mart. And this move makes perfect sense as player demographics is expanding from the antisocial weirdos who alone used to troll the MMO scene to the more "average" individuals who have no hang ups about voice chat or haven't developed the habit of chatting.
Personally, as an old school gamer who used to play MUDs and MUSHs, I prefer voice chat over text any day. It's easier to simply talk instead of type, I don't have to stop what I'm doing in game, I can stay in contact even when I'm out of the game, it is MUCH faster than typing regardless of how fast you type, and you develop much personal relationships with people.

Feb 28th 2011 12:21PM (Joystiq)Meh... I don't wanna spend my money on the games but still wanna play them. So, I download them. That's my justification. Oh well.
