Aww yeah, this reminds me of my favorite part of PAX. Hang'n out with devs in the expo hall and deviously getting information out of them. It's surprisingly easy at PAX, since they're happy but also really tired, and often not PR so they're not really that great at keeping secrets. So fun.
What the hell is wrong with so many commenters? Just because he points out the good side of things does NOT MAKE HIM AN EMPLOYEE! Yes it's possible to see the good points to a new upcoming service without working for them. I mean jesus people, how can so many of you be so completely jaded as to not be excited AT ALL by the potential for some actual real damn terminal computing? How can that not excite you in the least? My only guess is that someone would have to be so completely in love with buying, installing, and troubleshooting PC hardware that anything coming along that might in any small way diminish that simply MUST be demonized and belittled, no matter how freaking insane the work that went into it is. Honestly people, grow the hell up already.
Looks extremely promising given Steve Perlman's solid track record for creating serious new tech. Obviously it's not going to magically replace all other video games and certainly will take time to catch on but I would not be surprised to see the service do very very well, even right away, given the enormous hardware base their system works on. I can't wait to have people spectate my gaming too, that sounds super fun!
Or... you were playing WoW in OS X at the time because Blizzard always releases Mac versions of their games. I was playing WoW in OS X at the time and noticed I could sign up for Starcraft 2 beta when they made the switch to the new BattleNet for logins. I hope I get in!
This kind of comment epitomizes the level of research done by the typical blog post comment maker. Sure, Crysis is only the game they've demoed on the service THE MOST but why should he have to know that before telling people who've been in their industry for decades what they're doing wrong?
This is lame! Yeah! Saying stuff is lame makes me awesome! What's that? They've been working on this technology for eight years and it will likely spearhead the ultimate shift of computing from end-point to terminal based, utterly changing the kinds of collaborative applications possible? Whatever! If it's not already out and something I can use right now then it will NEVER come out or be awesome EVER!
lol exactly! Get ready to be downvoted though the moment all the tards figure out you said something positive for OnLive. Oh and if you disagree with any of them then you're an irrational OnLive fanboy. Nevermind how much sense anything you say makes.
