PS3 exclusives round-up [Update 2]

Oct 21st 2006 8:39PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Looking good. Here's a few corrections for the list though -

Formula One isn't a PS3 exclusive, but is a Sony exclusive (PS2, PSP and PS3).

Kingdom Hearts 3 hasn't been announced and as the franchise spans both Sony and Nintendo machines it is fairly possible it will also be on the Wii.

Monster Kingdom and Unknown Realms are actually the same game, just its former and current name; so Monster Kingdom should be deleted.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma is just an enhanced port of the Xbox Ninja Gaiden game so not technically exclusive.

Omikron 2 is still listed as appearing on PC and Xbox 360 on all the big games sites.

WarDevil Enigma hasn't been announced as an exclusive (it doesn't even have an announced publisher yet so exclusive details are a bit far off!) and has been shown on the Xbox 360.

Zone of the Enders 3 also hasn't been announced.

PS3 Peripherals officially priced for the US

Oct 21st 2006 12:16AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Just a note on the price comparision with the Wii controllers.

Currently only one game requires two nunchucks for multiplayer, Wii Sports boxing. So at the moment, for the best Wii multiplayer experience you need four remotes and two nunchucks. So for up to four player multiplayer on all three next-gen consoles you'll be spending the same amount, $200 USD.

The Wii isn't region-free, after all

Sep 15th 2006 10:27PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Bah! I'm looking a bit daft now, while your first article was still wrong didn't read the new quote from Nintendo USA, only the UK quote.

Nothing really has changed though, software publishers are still able to label their software region-encoded or not. The only bad news is that the initial batch of first-party titles might not be.

The Wii isn't region-free, after all

For goodness sake, Perrin Kaplan SAID the Wii wasn't region-free in the intial quote you linked to (and at least two commenters told you you labelled your article incorrectly.

Stop hearing what you want to hear and actually report the news.

The Wii is region-free! [update 1]

Sep 15th 2006 2:10AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I was just about to post the same thing as Hunt. While the DS was region-free, the Wii is not, so I suggest you rename this article as it gives a false impression to those that only skim-read your article. Your readers might decide it is in their best interests to import a cheaper Japanese Wii and then realise they've wasted their cash because it wont play any EA games, etc. This is still exciting news though, so a new title like 'Nintendo titles all region-free!' will better reflect the news.

Oh no they didn't!

Ah... Death, Devilish and Benjamin, you guys do realise these videos are jokes right?

Of course the claims and bias shown in the videos are ridiculous, they are parodying that crazy PSP fanboy's comparision video that was posted here the other day! You know, that one that only showed kiddy games for the DS. The same one that listed a huge list of PSP features the DS could do. I wonder why these DS videos did the inverse of that?! Gasp!

If you would like to trade in your PSPs for a sense of humour, then please send them to Benn c/o Australia.

Clearing up some PS3 confusion

May 14th 2006 10:10PM (Joystiq)
I'm fairly confident that during the press conference Sony described the hard-drive as 'removable' in one instance, so I'm gonna guess the second rumour is indeed false.
