Rock Band disc export goes live, costs $5 for 55 tracks

Sep 4th 2008 2:07PM (Joystiq)
So what about all the stuff I bought? Is that just gonna work or do i get to gift them 5 more bucks out of the goodness of my heart? I'm sure they are, you know, barely making any money on this stuff, hence the 5 buck screwgie.

Kazunori Yamauchi: More Prologue, no GT5 soon, GT PSP still coming

Maybe this thing will ship for PS5???

I guess I'll just do more track days in my Evo9 to hold me over...

Overheard@E3: 'I feel kind of bad that we're turning people into drummers'

I'm still shocked there wasn't a surprise or two held back about RB2 for E3.

I figured either:

1) they would announce a major exclusive with either The Beatles, Led Zep, Doors, Pink Floyd, etc.

2) they would announce a new instrument - a one octave keyboard perhaps (which would have gone nicely with Doors/Pink Floyd exclusive - hint hint). ;)

New Ghostbusters screens give us the heebie-jeebies

I was skeptical when I first read about this game, but it's looking better and better. Plus the original cost (more or less, I think) is involved.

I really hope this does well so developers consider some other classic, ripe for picking IP's out there... a Blade Runner game has always been something with a lot of promise that never seems to hit the mark. Maybe it could finally be done well.

Wow. I guess if you make one utterly shitty game, that's it.

I still don't know how these guys originally did Diablo1... crazy.

Rock Band 2 rocking on 360 in Sept. - PS3, PS2, Wii 'later in the year'

Hard to really say for sure at this point about the 'instruments' since Harmonix has yet to show the RB2 gear.

I'd be SHOCKED if RB2 didn't match or exceed the offerings on drums/guitar that GH:WT has. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they added a 1 octave keyboard, that would rule.

When have they ever made a good movie out of a videogame franchise? It's just better if they don't ruin another even if their intentions are good...

My advice... please don't.

Rumor: MadCatz Rock Band controllers arriving soon

Jun 19th 2008 5:55PM (Joystiq)
I'm betting that kit is compatible with both Rockband and the soon to be released Rock Band2. There is no way most of that stuff works on RB1 without a patch from Harmonix. I'm guessing this is a preview of what RB2 has to over, and since it's coming out a few months after this, it makes sense that Madhacks would shoot for both targets.

Survey reveals Rock Band 2 concept box art

I think Harmonix needs to wise up on the DLC thing. If they don't let me use my RB1 DLC on RB2, why on earth would I not jump ship and just buy GH:World Tour?

They need to realize this is a smart move that benefits them and their loyal customers. I always thought (hoped) it was the greedy bastards that published the game that made them put on the asshat as far as the DLC went. Prove me right guys.
