Nov 11th 2008 3:32PM (Joystiq)we sent over 100,000 west coast japanese-americans, many 2nd generation to desert camps (while we only sent suspected german and italian spies to military prisons)and the only crime that was ever reported was a farmer plowing over his crops because he had planted them and he wouldnt get to harvest them.
and now we have guantanamo, which they tell us many of these people were captured fighting in the middle east.
so i think we're on the same page about the hypocrisy of innocent till proven guilty that the government show'd japanese-americans and the prisoners of guant. n the agruement that these prisoners aren't americans is a shame, if we're exporting democrazy, how we behave at all times reflects on our government.
fear pushed the american government to round up japanese-americans and fear pushed us into these wars. so again, r we on the same page?

Nov 10th 2008 8:15PM (Joystiq)what the author is talking about is more to have to do with america's handling of pearl harbor. i mean look at how we here treat people who are being held in military prisons due to suspected terrorist ties. that person/persons might be guilty but let them stand trial.
i suppose japan is just trying to move past their history, no matter how recent it really might be. when everything was happening back then they saw themselves as fighting off the European powers. the massacre everyone quotes started because the Japanese thought those people were supporting the British. Still it was horrible.
if u look at how the asian countries have faught wars, they were all totally brutal. look at how china went into tibet. the koreans have just started to adjust to the idea of biracial citizens.
now does the game talk about any of these aspects, prob not. but its a video game that will prob get lost in the shuffle of all the other triple a games out there.
thought it would be interesting if a developer made a game about the 442nd (the most decorated unit in american military history) and their march thru italy. so GO FOR BROKE!
