In a fluke I managed to get a RB bundle tonight after going to the Victoria Futureshop for a totally different reason. As I was walking towards the store, I passed by a guy walking away with a 360 bundle. I was shocked and he told me there was only one left. I flew..FLEW...into the store and saw the last one about to be bought by some guy. My heart sank. BUT then he thought he wouldn't buy it because his kids were too young for it. It was offered to me and I scooped it right up. Apparently, the store had received a shipment of 10 at 5 pm and I just happened to be at the right place at the right time. I can't believe me good fortune. I hope everyone is able to get a bundle soon.
No Rock Band bundles today in the Futureshop and Bay Centre EB in Victoria. Guys at both stores told me the 28th, though the EB guy tried to tell me the delay was due to i) broken guitars causing delays and ii) the need for French-language manuals. I think that's BS since the delay was announced before reports of broken guitars began circulating and EA ships games to Canada all the time with French manuals.
My theory is that EA deliberately delayed the Canadian release due to the high Canadian dollar in October/November. Back then the dollar was overvalued at 1 CAD = 1.10 USD and if EA had released RB then they could have lost a lot of money since they couldn't increase the price after release. Now I think they are just gouging at charging 199 CAD, but it could be due to the high cost of shipping such large packages to Canuckistan...
