Report: Next-gen Xbox to launch October/November 2013 with this GPU
Jan 25th 2012 11:38AM (Joystiq)And then blindside everyone with something much more powerful.
Since when have Microsoft ever had to worry about making a profit? They Dady-Warbucks'd
their way into the console wars with their Windows-monopoly money. It makes no sens that they wouldn't try and crush everyone else like a bug with the extra cash...that's all they do.
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword media sets the scene
Sep 30th 2011 2:23PM (Joystiq)I want to agree with Belial cause I know anyone who questions anything about the game get totaly dumped on. Not ALL the models are terrible but alot of them are just a huge turn-off. They look interesting and creative and fit into the whole world and everything but...the guys all look kind of prissy and frilly and uh...how else can I dance around this?...'flamboyant' but not in a cool way? Maybe Girahim has kind of a Marylin Manson vibe which kind of works but the rest just look like pre-op transexualls. Even the the bully character Groose looks like a drag-queen.
Before the overly sensitive super-fans dump on that, I don't think it's a problem for Zelda fans who already love the series. I don't think it's the end of the world. But I just think the characters designs are gonna make it harder to get new guys who are skeptical of Nintendo's core gamer cred
to give Zelda a chance and realize how cool Zelda games are. The flamboyant design just doesn't translate well for the north american audience, I think it's Japanese thing that is totally lost in translation and isn't going to help the series at all.
One more thing...just because you think no one should ever complain about a single thing in Zelda doesn't mean your a bigger fan.
Smithsonian 'Art of Video Games' winners announced
May 6th 2011 11:40PM (Joystiq)Yeah where's Rockstar Games in general? They must not have wanted to participate like they don't do award shows or E3.
Kinect review: The hardware and experience
Nov 4th 2010 12:40AM (Joystiq)And by this review I have to say it sounds like this product was developed by executives with no taste surrounded by I.T-guy-YES-men who just sat there and and noded at all the horrible decisions to keep their jobs 'cause no one at Microsoft can handle constructive feed back.
I honestly thought the x-box division was distancing itself from those sorts of vibes you get from the Windows development situation but....I guess not.
"Oh the audience will just deal with the set-up (other reviews have been less forgiving of that part), and the distance issues, and re-arrange the furniture in their living room every time they want to play"
What a waste of waiting.
Goldeneye 007 review: For England, James
Nov 3rd 2010 7:07AM (Joystiq)I thought the same thing the whole time myself, I only saw the first Bond with Brosnan in it. And (off topic) I didn't go see 'the social network' 'cause I've just been waiting for Justin Timberlake to go away for years. Please god don't let this guy's acting career get off the ground.
Cammie Dunaway leaving Nintendo on October 1
Sep 20th 2010 6:53PM (Joystiq)But I thought she was ok in interviews after she relaxed a little. Her most recent stuff she seemed very natural in front of the camera not annoying like she was when she started....for what it's worth.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 passes 1 million sold in US
Jul 17th 2010 10:16AM (Joystiq)The Last Story seen in action for the first time
Jul 8th 2010 8:04PM (Joystiq)Final Fantasy has a nice ring to it because of the double F's.
'Last Story' is sort of clunky, I thought it would be way better to call it
'Last Legend' instead. But there no point in trying to actually get that idea to them.
Also 'Elza' as a male character for a boy is a big mistake for American audience.
Reggie confirms 2011 launch for 3DS on Fallon
Jun 26th 2010 4:51PM (Joystiq)He looks like Donkey Kong
Preview: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Jun 18th 2010 5:39AM (Joystiq)I was thinking the same thing, the placement of the bushes and grass and tree models , it just looks like they don't know how to make the over world compelling. I think it's Aunuma (I know that must be spelled wrong), he's just not ambitious or talented enough with the presentation. And those red goblin models...they are just annoying without being scary . The fat belly with the skinny legs. I don't want to look at that thing it's disgusting. What a turn off.
I just want him off the series. When I played Shadow of the Colosus
I thought THIS is where Zelda should be. Then there was this statement where they said the Zelda team felt pressure from the Monster Hunter team....and then this.
