How would you change Apple's Nehalem-based Mac Pro?
May 9th 2009 12:46AM (Engadget)Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'
Mar 26th 2007 7:06AM (Joystiq)You inspect the goods, if you're happy they carefully place it in the box and put a security sticker on it.
Soon as the sticker is removed you can only get a refund if the item is faulty, you can get an exchange within 10 days (if I'm not mistaken) and after than you have to accept their trade in value.
Gamestop shenanigans sell open games as 'new'
Mar 26th 2007 7:01AM (Joystiq)As long as you can inspect the disc and manual beforehand (which I do with all unsealed games) then there is no problem.
You're getting pissy over nothing. Just buy online if you're that much of a pedant.
'This is Living' toilet girl helps flush PAL PS3 sales
Mar 25th 2007 9:02AM (Joystiq)Sony adverts in Europe have always been entertaining. The reason it isn't selling is because Sony is shipping tons over here. They don't need the bad press of £700 consoles and eBay touters.
They need to get the install base up before they start haemoraging money. The adverts were good.. money well spent I'd say. Man has always disputed things he didn't understand.
I'm not buying a system because it costs £425, not because the adverts didn't work. That is not SCEE's problem.
How do you manage your "to-play" list?

Dec 26th 2006 5:05PM (Joystiq)It's the only way to get them to try it- and then perhaps buy it. DS was a success because the day I got it- about 30 other people played on it before the battery died.
Wii doesn't need demo kiosks- just set a spark off in a few houses in each town, people come around to socialise (friends family) they try it and it's self propagating.
It works best with the adverts and as noted above, actually having units on the shelves.
I have had family around- I've not been enthusiastic to show them it but they instantlly spotted it "oh you have a Wii, we saw the adverts" and now they're buying one when they can.
I don't think it will be sold out until March- late January at the latest- and you fail to consider that these normal people are the ones buying the console anyway, hardcore gamers have units by now.
Christmas sees first VC price increase
Dec 25th 2006 12:30PM (Joystiq)But I'm not gonna pay that much- I think 800 is too much for a SNES game, the only games I see as value for money are N64 games really.
I might be a bit of a cheapskate but I was genuinely hoping for $2 NES, $4 SNES and $6 N64 titles with other consoles following suit for their corresponding generation.
At these prices I don't consider them impulse purchases- I have to look online to see if the PAL version is optimised and check out a review.
It should be priced so I don't have to worry if it stinks.
