MSX returns to Virtual Console in Japan with ... Metal Gear!?

Actually, the MGS saga starts with the two MSX games. The incidents with Big Boss that Snake speaks about in MGS1, are from MG1 and MG2.

The NES one is considered bad because of the translation and changes made. For example, the giant computer you fight at the end was a Metal Gear in the MSX/PS2 version.

Absolutely loved the first one, although I could never unlock the hidden last level. Can't wait for this one.

A lot better soundtrack than I thought the game was going to have.Still, would've preferred something off "Peace Sells" for Megadeth and something off "Hell Awaits," "Seasons in the Abyss," or "Reign in Blood" for Slayer. Some Venom, Exodus, Forbidden, Arch Enemy, Morbid Angel, and Celtic Frost would've been nice too. Oh well... At least there's no Trivium.

I'm actually furious at this news, as someone who hates portable systems. The only thing Sega could've done worse to supporters of the original would've been to make it a 360 exclusive....sigh... I guess I'll just hold out hope for an expanded PS3 version, down the road...
