Nissan Leaf still outpacing Chevy Volt on Google Trends

Aug 3rd 2010 11:06AM (Autoblog Green)
I think that it is sad that GM still cannot wrap their collective heads around he idea that a pure EV is an appealing product. A "range extended EV" is a plug-in hybrid by another name.

AFVI 2010: T. Boone Pickens believes God gave the U.S. our natural gas supplies

What's with the hostility Joeviocoe? An petrol-free future will only happen if [homophobic, moral-majority, NRA-card-holding] Conservatives and [bleeding-heart frothing-at-the-mouth] Enviro-zealots get together and stop painting ugly pictures of each other.

That is why I find articles like this one slightly distasteful - though I usually like Mr. Blanco's stuff.

Thanks Joeviocoe. You just underlined my my point.

Believing in God clearly renders a smart position on a clean, domestic alternative to oil invalid.

Growing algae is like raising chickens. They raise themselves.

Why not a higher gas tax?

Jul 15th 2009 8:12PM (Autoblog Green)
This is not the right time. Economically, we are in a very delicate position. A gradual increase in gas taxes would just ride the wave of (if not contribute to) the rapid inflation that is already looming.

If gas prices increase by 5%, so what? If wages increase by 7.5% to keep up with the falling value of the dollar, we are back were we started. Consumption will remain the same.

POINT: Wait until we have some economic recovery - then increase taxes rapidly!

Seattle mayor wants his city to be on bleeding edge of EVs

Jul 10th 2009 6:53PM (Autoblog Green)
I live just outside of Seattle and I can tell you that Mayor Nickels is wonderful man who has great sense of fiscal responsibility. Every decision that he seems to make is grounded firmly in reason and sobriety. He is not irrationally driven by his ideology and he ABSOLUTELY does not put the well-fare of seagulls above his own hungry and largely unemployed citizenry.

BTW: Today = Opposite Day.

Microsoft extends Windows 7 beta downloads to February 10

Jan 24th 2009 6:09PM (Engadget)
As an admitted Mac user (ie: obsessed cultist), I'm willing to give MS cred for: 1.) recognizing that Vista is a steaming pile of creamed corn; 2.) not resorting to endless patches & service packs for Vista (paramount to installing new carpet in a burning house); 3.) attempting to return to the heady Windows Longhorn concept.

There it is. That's all I have to say.
