Frogster releases TERA Europe pre-order and beta info, new video

Digital standard edition is £41, more expensive than retail, so much for saving money by buying directly. Another Digital Rip-Off.

EA, hackers win big off FIFA Ultimate Team

Feb 2nd 2012 10:31AM (Joystiq)
I was a victim of this literally on christmas eve so my account was locked over christmas over this. Microsoft got my money back but can't remove FIFA 2012 from my account (WTF?) and EA just blatantly refused to help in anyway and pointed the finger at Microsoft.

Turbine responds to LotRO store armor controversy

Jan 25th 2012 8:42AM (Massively)
lol, I've seen this before "We won't do x" and later they do it they say "We're sorry we didn't contaminate properly that'd we only do x if y happened". And thus begins the slippery slope.

I wonder if anyone can find any statements from Turbine where they say they stand behind their original statement.

Bit disappointed that as a brit I'll be asleep through most of this, unless I drink 20 cups of coffee.

Xbox Live 'FIFA hack' concerns continue to escalate, Microsoft states Windows Live ID not compromised

Jan 4th 2012 2:26PM (Joystiq)
Additionally I was told by MS that this is a very common thing occurring and due to it happening so much, is the reason for it taking so long to deal with cases as they're essentially being flooded with them. They also described this problem happening with FIFA 2011 last year. Seems to be a problem endemic with the FIFA series and EA, how they're getting their hands on XBL accounts though is interesting.

I had this happen to me on the 30th December, played FIFA 2012, and spent all my points on Gold Packs ( http://twitpic.com/80qkho ) MS have been very helpful, while contacting EA about it has been like slamming my head into a brick wall. EA just don't give a hoot.

Massively's Best of 2011 Awards

Dec 31st 2011 3:47PM (Massively)
The only one I don't agree with is "Best Bang for Buck" as on the F2P server EQII is far from Feature-full. You have to pay £8 just to unlock 3 races. Pay for expansions, pay for housing, you know, all that stuff you could get for cheaper on the full server with a £5 copy of the game with all expansions.

I actually Rate EQII F2P as biggest rip-off of the year. With EVE Online not too far behind.

Anonymous declares war on Sony over SOPA support

Additionally, the ESA is the company that runs the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) and has it's members pay for the ability to display at E3 and to sponsor it's activities "against piracy".

So these companies by being blackmailed into staying members of ESA (It would be damaging for them not to be part of E3) they are still supporting the SOPA bill.

Anonymous declares war on Sony over SOPA support

Dec 30th 2011 4:11PM (Massively)
Apparently Sony, Nintendo and EA have now "pulled" their support for the bill, probably only due to PR pressure and to limit damage, but it seems it's too late, and they aren't registered against the bill yet, the only video games company that's been registered against the bill from the start is Microsoft.

All of these companies though are part of the ESA, who support the bill, so they still have some connection to SOPA support, but it's weak at best. http://www.theesa.com/about/members.asp
