@Esposch Its got gameplay similar to Infinity Blade (But much quicker and less intrusive), great atmosphere and a killer story (One of my favourites of the year, regardless of platform. Thats up against Portal 2 and the like).
Kickstarter is a great site that gives birth to a ton of awesome things, but whenever I see someone asking for money for a short film, I always get conflicted.
I'm a aspiring film-maker (But then again, who isn't these days), and I've been working on a short film for the last while. I guess I could un-load the storyboard and screenplay to Kick Starter and ask for donations, but it feels a little like panhandling. So, I do things I'm not incredibly fond of (Film events, weddings, etc) to make the money I need to fund my project. It definitely takes longer, but I get the satisfaction of knowing that what I will make is mine (and the crew I put together) alone.
Plus, they are putting it on Youtube, where they will get paid from the website based on how many people subscribe to their channel.
I know how hard it can be to do something you love but not get paid for it. I wish these guys the best, and as a huge Limbo fan, I hope the film turns out well. But I just hate it when people get take the easy road.
Seriously Microsoft? I love me some Apple, I really do. But that doesn't mean that if a company offers a superior product I won't buy it. Same thing happened for the Zune. I thought (and still think) that the Zune 30 was a better product then the iPod Video. People ridiculed it, yea, but that was to be expected. I mean, at least Microsoft had the balls to make something that didn't look exactly like an Apple product, hell, how many brown and green MP3 players do you see? I still own that Zune, and even though I don't use it any more (water damage a few years back), I still remember it as one of my favourite gadgets of the last few years. The Courier was another chance for Microsoft to innovate, to release something that wasn't the "norm", but still did a kickass job for what it was made to do. And people realized that. It just feels like a slap in the face to whomever was waiting on it. I've been considering the iPad for a while now, but I've always told myself that the Courier comes first. As a Architecture Student/Amateur Photographer, the Courier would have been perfect for what I need it for, and the pros of it would vastly outweigh the iPad. But as of today, that dream is dead. I'll be getting an iPad soon, and even though I'll be able to do similar tasks to the Courier through different apps, it won't feel quite right. So thanks Microsoft, thanks for letting me, and many people, down.
GARGH! I really hate the fact that everyone and their grandma say "Illusions of Gaia is DA BOMB!!!1!" and completely ignore its sequal, Terranigma. I mean, ok, it was only released in Europe and Japan, but the story, gameplay, and music (oh, the music was so very, very good) were far superior to Illusions. I want a Terranigma remake DANGIT!
Oh, and this is gonna be pretty awesome, I haven't beaten CT in a couple years, looking forward to another romp through it!
And before you all get mad, I love Illusions of Gaia as well, I just loved Terranigma more!
Because some of the best writing in the game was associated with the Companion Cube. I mean, the whole "remember, the Weighted Companion Cube will not stab you" and the whole thing about the party that GlaDOs talks about, none of your friends, even the Companion Cube, will show up, the game practically MAKES you remember the thing. I agree, I would have never thought the Cube a big thing unless the internet made it a big thing, but common guys, the last (offical) Portal post we had was, I donno, 4 MONTHS AGO! So lets just give this guy praise where its due, and stop fighting over this thing.
