Id like to see an indepth review of the JVC enverio HDD camcorders, it looks like the sofware on the camera could potentially cut down my capture time. I only wish it was an HD camcorder :

I've never done any video for TV, though Im working on a soon to be TV show. I basicly do the camera work, capturing, editing, uploading, and hosting all myself. My work flow is generally consumed by capturing all of my footage off of DV tapes, those firestore things are great btw. I used Adobe Premiere Pro for editing, with minor stuff in After Effects.

I just do it all becasue its enjoyable and 100% for myself, Im sure that if I was doing this as a 9-5 job I'd probably have a different opinion but I love web video production. Ive done a few DVDs, but I dislike being limited to NTSC colors (my videos generally have high saturation and sharpness that looks horrible on a real tv).

Oh and that freevlog site is a huge eye sore.

Clearly anyone voting for the Canon 20D (albiet a great camera) has not been in the loop or seen the 5D.

I know it's been said many times already, but the Canon 5D is the next step in prosumer digital SLR cameras. Clearly the digital camera of the year, IMO.

Perhaps we should split the category to Digital SLR and Digital point-and-shoot? It doesn't seem fair and there are plenty of new great point-and-shoot friendly cameras.

Not to burst everyones bubble, but there is a 3CCD Everio camcorder. Unfortunatly for you and I, like distantbody pointed out, its crippled. It comes with a 4GB microdrive capable of a whole 60 minutes of footage at full quality. Albeit removeable instead of carrying around a pile of DV tapes your forced to carry around a pile of microdrives. Keep in mind that when youre out in the field or on vacation and you need a new DV tape you can easily pick up decent quality ones at your nearest 7-11, Wallgreens, etc.

Congrats to JVC for making the first 3CCD vaporware camcorder.

BTW the 30GB model is apparently very good & from a review of it I read in Stuff, or Maxim (one of those softcore porn/gadget magazines my brother subscribes to) The Devils Rejects was shot on one & Rob Zombie gave it high recommendations. Apparently you can even edit your footage on the camera.
