I want variety on my gaming system. I don't see variety as just E and T rated games. Sometimes I want something more action packed and darker (like RE4, God of war, Ninja Gaiden, Gears of War, etc.). Mature games are not made for teens. They are for anyone who likes to explore some of the darker fantasies of this world or some of the sexual fantasies of this world. Remember, we are living in a time when something as natural as a Womens breast will make a game M-rated.
Having mature games on Nintendo Systems ultimately helps the system sell better. I don't see why any Nintendo fan should argue against M-rated games. You are shooting yourself in the foot. Fact: The most mainstream and highest selling game last gen was M-rated. If you want your little Nintendo console to do well and be for Everyone, then it must have m-rated games on it.
I think they are banking on Sonic and the Secret Rings. If any title they are currently offering has a chance to sell very well it's this one. Sonic games sold the best on the Gamecube last gen. There's also Golden Axe coming up, we'll see how that turns out.
Driving games suck on the Wii??? Excite truck is a blast if you have played it.
SSX should stay on the PS2 and the dualshock controller??? What, so you can push more buttons?
Too many other idiotic comments to mention.
The wii will rule sports games (yes swinging a controller like a tennis racket is better than seeing sweat drip from players faces). There will be a killer FPS game on the Wii in the near future that nails the controls and has great graphics. There will be many innovative games on the Wii which you will not find on other systems and yes the Wii will have m-rated games.
As for GOW2, I will buy that on my PS2 when it comes out.
I think that this game and most other third party games for the Wii are showing us just how difficult it is to program for use of the Wii controller at this point in time. Clearly what is happening is that developers are putting out ports of existing games and adding Wii controls to help get a feel of how the Wii controller works and how people respond to it. Even on games developed specifically for the Wii, it appears that developers are concentrating more on the controls than they are on graphics and polishing the games. I think it's obvious that right now developers are trying to get a hold on how to use the controller more than anything.
Once developers figure the Wii controls out, then we will start seeing more polished graphics, more precise controls, better control schemes. Developers will then have time to polish other aspects of their games instead of just giving us ports with added controls.
If it's the best runs from previous games I'm in. I really liked SSX 3, but it was always only one or two runs that I always kept playing. Sunshine Jam over and over, plus maybe one or two other ones were the only ones worth playing. This looks like a must-have on the Wii.
I don't see how you can get a more realistic golf game with graphics versus using the Wii-remote in a realistic fashion. Doesn't make sense.
Saying that, developers need to realize, that they are going to have to get thier graphics to look better than PS2 games on a next gen system. I guarantee that if the graphics look like this at launch, EA will lose sales over it.
Anyone who has played Wii sports boxing standing up will testify that boxing 3 rounds will increase your heart rate and at least get you energized, if not tired. One thing is for sure, its a better workout than sitting on the couch and pressing buttons.
All I know is I looked at the PS3 games in Target the other day and was surprised by the lack of games. I mean it doesn't even have some decent games from 3rd parties besides Fight Night 3. The 360 had way more diversity on it's launch and shortly after. Games like Graw, Kameo, PDZ, Condemned as well as pretty much every 3rd paty game pS3 has at the moment. Very unimpressed.
