This is what the Wii U looks like

Jun 7th 2011 1:35PM (Joystiq)
On top of the fact that it totally contradicts the point of the Wii, who cares? It'll still have more Zelda, Mario, Starfox...the same old franchises.

If only Nintendo spent as much time working on new, interesting franchises as they do on coming up with GIMMICKS that don't solve ANY problems.

Oh great, now I can crane my neck over a 7 inch tablet controller monstrosity instead of sitting back and enjoying the glory of my 50" LCD.

"Hi, Nintendo here. Remember when we said to drop the controllers, gather around the TV, and just play? Well, now grab a giant controller, turn off the tv, and become a hermit."

Judge shoots Dead Rising lawsuit in the head

I'm really glad this is done and over with. It was a ridiculous lawsuit, anyway. Now get us Dead Rising 2.

As a gaming community, we should keep his mother in our prayers (if we still do those). He's obviously a talented guy and some time off with family should do him some good. Perhaps he'll even start an indie studio or create some XBLA or PSN games.

I'm pretty sure that if I played this that I would dislocate a shoulder. Look at all those upward jabs...ouch.

Space Invaders/Sept. 11 art exhibit stirs controversy [update]

That I have to see.

In regards to this particular piece, I'm not typically one for political correctness and it's not "terrible" because no damage is being done to the buildings, it's still quite distasteful.

I live in New York and that day was devastating, and though I despise the way the Bush administration has used it as a scapegoat in order to evoke fear in the country and push a more personal political agenda in the middle east waged under false pretenses at the wrong enemy, doing the 9/11 thing still isn't kosher.

My big problem still lies in the fact that it still doesn't have built in flash memory of even just one goddamn gigabyte. Is that too much to ask? Really?

GC 2008: Heavy Rain will have demo; DLC teased

Aug 21st 2008 3:11PM (Joystiq)
I don't believe it's only QTE, but even if it were heavy on QTE, it still wouldn't change the fact that it was big component to a lot of the action scenes in Indigo Prophecy, which is the game Quantic Dream last developed so it should be expected.

GC 2008: Heavy Rain will have demo; DLC teased

Aug 21st 2008 1:39PM (Joystiq)
I'm really looking forward to Heavy Rain, but with the lack of information since that first teaser trailer in 2005, I had feared it went the way of Alan Wake.

I know some people have been dissing, well really just this guy from what I've seen: http://kezins.com/2008/08/heavy-rain-gameplay-disappoints/2818

And I don't get it. Sure there is extensive use of QTE, but if you played Indigo Prophecy - the last project by developer Quantic Dream - you would know that Indigo Prophecy used extensive QTE. It's an adventure game for all intents and purposes, and the purpose is to tell you a story in an interactive way.

I'm can't wait to get my hands on it myself to see if it lives up to my personal hopes for it.
