Another response to 'Iron Chef Exposed'

Feb 22nd 2008 7:51PM (Slashfood)
What about the judges tasting food that was cooked after the filmed dishes? How about them adding ingredients (mmm, white truffles) that weren't part of the filmed process and weren't shown at all?

These seemed to be the more disappointing possibilities, yet you seem to have ignored those points altogether. I could care less about decoy chefs, that's run-of-the-mill reality TV stuff.

Takahashi: Sony begging PS3 devs to stay on-board

Oct 19th 2007 7:49PM (Joystiq)
The PS3 is a wonderful piece of hardware. The problem is that it's the first system to have so many processors and game developers aren't used to having to write everything using parallel processing. Most PC games don't even make use of the multi-core architecture that computers are coming with now.

Another hit is that the Wii is standard def, and based on that, PS3 is competing more directly with XBox360, which has been out a long time now. Developers have already learned to use the XBox360 rather well. However with the PS3 it is going to take a long time for developers to make really efficient use of the Cell processor.

Give it another 3 years and we will see a completely different story.

Bristol Fighter SCR one-ups Bugatti Veyron...maybe

Nov 3rd 2006 6:06PM (Autoblog)
How does this one-up the Veyron? On pure horsepower? There's a lot (ok well some) cars out there pushing well over 1000hp. The Veyron is about so much more than that. Looking purely at performance numbers, well let's see, there's top speed... SCR has an unconfirmed 270mph, while the Veyron has a confirmed, sustained, maximum track speed of 252mph. I wouldn't exactly call that a one-up. SCR does 0-62 in (probably just) under 3.5 seconds, Veyron in 2.5 seconds... that's a huge difference.

The Veyron was intended to be a beast that is drivable in all situations, at all speeds, with a lot of very impressive technology to back it up... and it seems to be a success in that regard. So far, this article has pointed out that the SCR "one-ups" the Veyron simply because it has about 1% more horsepower.... WTF?

So what exactly is the point of this article?

SEMA: Jay Leno and GM unveil turbine-powered EcoJet supercar

Oct 31st 2006 1:19PM (Autoblog)
Ug. Ly.

All diesels are potentially biodiesel. Who cares if it has a turbine? Leno has some nice cars, but this thing is not very tasteful or exciting to me... not that anyone asked my opinion, haha. Seems more like a way to market the companies that worked on it, instead of an excercise in innovative engineering.

I think Leno 'engineered' all the aerodynamics himself.

What the hell qualifies this as a supercar? 650hp is nice, but notice how they neglected to mention how much the damn thing weighs. meh.
