Xbox hacking victim tells her story, fights for others
Jan 9th 2012 8:19PM (Joystiq)I was hacked on Nov.2. I am from Spain but I am living in Richmon, VA. My account was hacked from Russia. On Nov.2, I received an email from Microsoft telling me that my account's migration to a Russian account was completed succesfully. I was shocked. I went to xbox, I turned it on and There I was in the Russian' dashboard. I lost my xbox gold account and more than 3000 Microsoft points that I had at that time. I called to Microsoft support, they opened a case "1164942837". They told me that I couldn't use my account because it will be blocked. Not true, after a few days a called again telling them that I still was able to sign in my my hacked account with my xbox and on www.xbox.com. They said that it will be fixed...well, I am writing this on January, 9th. And I still can have acces to the Russian account. I can even see under my friends all of the hackers' friends! What kind of fix is that. Also, I have received already twice the same message fom Microsoft. That one that says "Dear Xbox LIVE Customer,Your report of an unauthorized access to your Xbox LIVE account has been reviewed by our fraud investigations team. However, there is a delay in processing your request, so we're sending you a free, 30-day Xbox LIVE membership code that you can use to create a new, temporary account.
Please accept this prepaid code with our apologies for the delay"
And also twice the following message:
Dear Xbox LIVE Customer,
We are continuing to investigate your report of unauthorized account access to your Xbox LIVE account. Our goal is to unlock your account as quickly as possible. As previously communicated to you this investigation may take up to 3 weeks to resolve. During this time we ask for your continued patience.
If you have any concerns please contact us and be sure to include service request number 1164942837.
It is January 9th and I am still waiting, after three emails telling me the same.
