Just wish they could have done this with Fifa Street :(

The Last of Us announcement trailer broken down in making-of video

Feb 2nd 2012 6:44AM (Joystiq)
Ahh, I thought the girl in the trailer when it debuted looked like Ellen. Didn't bother to find out if it was but now I know. Juno rocks. Heh...but Ellen always seems to play braniac females in all her flicks, even waaay back in Hard Candy or whatever that flick was called. I definitely see her nerding ways being in this game, too.

Tactical Espionage Announcement: Kojima working on Metal Gear Solid 5

All I ask is that he get someone else WHO CAN ACTUALLY WRITE A GOOD STORY to put together a good script for this game. Maybe he should holla at the Uncharted series writer(s) or sumthin. Heh...

This Madden curse might actually be a real thing: Peyton Hillis is injured

Nov 6th 2011 1:04AM (Joystiq)
@Hoops

LOL. Funny but Kurt was still QB the season Fitz was on the cover however, I think those stats I mentioned actually dipped after Kurt left. His total yds and total yds avg dropped but he actually had one more reception and caught one more TD during his cover year.

This Madden curse might actually be a real thing: Peyton Hillis is injured

Yea, I think it's crazy how since Madden, himself, stopped being on the cover, all the athletes who have subsequently been on it have suffered major disasters the same football season, except, maybe, Larry Fitzgerald and that's only because he shared the cover with Troy P, who actually was out for the entire regular season after getting injured in the first game of the season. and that was the first and only time the cover was shared.

Even then, I think Fitzy's stats took somewhat of a big dip that year in TDs and minor one in receptions and I think he got severely hurt late in the season. Eh.

Whatever the case, Hillis is definitely going through a major blow while being on the cover. Ppl can say that players get hurt and yes they do but not ALL of them who get hurt always have major disturbances to their gameplay nor do all of them get knocked out of playing during the season. It's just strange situation with this Madden deally.

Copped this yesterday after work. Played briefly cuz I had other ish to do but, wow, I am excited about it's potential! Sleeping on it furthered the feeling. Can't wait to get some quality time with it.

Sony still investigating scope of PSN attack as maintenance outage enters Day 6

Apr 25th 2011 2:37PM (Joystiq)
Didn't read through all the comments and I don't know all the facts but this is what I've come to see:

Things like this is what Sony possibly tried to protect against when they removed Linux from the PS3 for network users yet people wanted to talk about how their system is theirs and they should be able to do whatever they want to do, yada, yada. People attacked others who thought removing Linux was wrong as well as what Geohot did.

What Geo whatever did contributed to the probs we have on the PSN, now, and many of the people who supported the behavior are now upset because they cannot use their PS3s online, at the moment.

Obviously, the PS3 tech engineers and co. came to realize the possible dangers of having Linux on the PS3 as it could be used to exploit code affect EVERYONE using their PS3s online. People NOT in IT don't understand the complexity of code and, sometimes, not even IT people and that's why things get hacked. That's tech. Nothing is fool proof when you have people out here that absolutely live to make other people's lives miserable.
I also think it's interesting how people who do these things would be enraged if someone messed with their lives in a negative way yet they don't think about how they are affecting others with their actions. That's narcissism, eh?

It's sad but the the world of computer tech is tricky. Personally, I don't game online but it affects getting patches and my ability to get that damn Virtual Tennis 4 demo I meant to get last week off the PSN Store. Lol.

Gritty Mortal Kombat concept trailer getting a webisode series

Jan 15th 2011 11:55PM (Joystiq)
I can't understand the suits at WB. Pass on this???? I don't know the particulars but that trailer has to be the best looking video game to movie clip of any sort that I've ever seen. High production values (sans that obviously artificial shadow on Scorpion's face) and what seems to be a hint of a good story line. I'm not even a MK fan. Maybe this guy should do something with Street Fighter...but then again, the murkiness and violence of this is a great draw.
I WILL be catching the web-a-sodes.
