Sprint's Treo 800w manual goes online, all 436 spellbinding pages of it

Jul 9th 2008 2:15AM (Engadget)
Sprint pulled the source file, but there's a "mega upload" mirror of the PDF at the bottom of this page

http://www.wmexperts.com/sprint_treo_800w_user_guide.html

downloaded fine for me after the 60 second waiting period.

Selling Your Old GPS Device? Be Careful -- It Might Still Have Your Address

Mar 6th 2008 7:38PM (Switched)
I solved this problem by never going directly home. Instead, I park a few blocks from my house, don a ski mask and sneak in through the back door carrying a crowbar. If anyone's following me, he assumes I'm a criminal who's already sacked the joint.

You just can't be too safe.

FlipStart retail price nosedives, we're a little worried

Better read the fine print, Engadget!

Cedar Electronics' CDV-528: half camcorder, half PMP, totally chintzy

Dec 9th 2007 3:41PM (Engadget)
>Interestingly, we're not told what types of files this thing will actually support, but let's just say that's reason enough for you to avoid this like the plague, cool?

Let's see: You're ignorant of the technical details, and you don't understand who might want an MP3/Camcorder/so, ergo, the product must be bad. This is poor journalism, Engadget. Please do some informed reviews in the future.

Blu-ray disc coatings starting to rot?

Jun 18th 2007 3:35AM (Engadget)
Maybe the high % of Blockbuster Blur-ray rentals are all because these poor folks can't play their own rotten discs?

Palm Foleo hands-on

Jun 1st 2007 3:51AM (Engadget)
I'm very excited about this product. I think it will let me leverage a data plan I have already subscribed, and the concept of instant-on technology is incredibly powerful. I'm not sure that the folks talking about cheap or even powerful laptops have the same sensitivity to that issue.

I'd much rather not wait for a machine to come out of hibernation or standby. I don't expect to wait ten seconds for dial tone, so why should I wait a minute or two to access the key applications I need to do my job? It's all about access!

Nintendo confirms DS MP3 Player

Nov 22nd 2006 8:47PM (Engadget)
Is this different than the Max Media Dock by Datel? I think those have been out since July. I have one but I never got around to using it. I think it was around $50 with no media.

Sony's Phil Harrison: "I don't think we're arrogant"

Jul 13th 2006 8:02PM (Joystiq)
"This is where I stopped recording: after the tape was turned off and I said, "that's it, thanks".

Phil then said something along the lines of "well those were positive questions", in a vaguely sarcastic tone."

As a journalist, you should always give your interviewee the option (by invitation) to add his/her own comments beyond your scripted interview in order to present a balanced view of the facts. You'll find the question "Do you have anything else that you'd like to add?" would be an appropriate way to end an interview, rather than asking a bunch of pointed questions and then shutting down the dialog like you did.

Pimp my 360: chrome edition

No thanks, I'll just keep wrapping mine in foil and blowing off the smoke.

Doesn't chrome trap heat - like a baked potato?

Toshiba man hints at internal HD-DVD 360

Jun 30th 2006 9:26PM (Joystiq)
Is this a deliberate misquote? Whittard didn't speak to the issue of 'an internal HD-DVD drive making it into next generations of the Xbox 360 before the end of the year.' What he said was, "Xbox is coming out with an HD-DVD player towards the end of this year", and that he'd expect Xbox to consider an internal HDDVD "fairly soon."
