Assassin's Creed 2 trailer is the most violent music video ever

You had a fanboy-gasm, too?

Joyswag: Personalized DS stylus from Shapeways [update]

Jul 21st 2009 3:25PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
My stylus has the generic black plastic tip and butt. However, the shaft is completely metal. The metal itself shows how much I've used it because the area where my palm holds it is darkened, I guess thanks to sweat worked up when I am playing a good game. The metal allows it to not bend when I get worked up playing TWEWY. I got it in a special set that I bought off of Amazon.

I remember my favorite ever stylus that I've used was the quill shaped one that you got for registering your copy of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on Nintendo's site and took a survey. I wish I could find that one, though I think my current one is pretty cool. If I win, I think I'll go with a metal version of the quill :D.

Excitebots has slow sales start in April

May 16th 2009 10:52AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
About 75% (Note: not a real estimate) of the people who bought a Wii are in it for the casual novelty crowd. Of the 25% left, only a certain number of people would be interested in a certain game. Since the casual crowd rarely buy new games, that makes the factor of people who are gonna buy games pretty low. Stating that, it makes sense that these sales aren't exactly slow, it's an average number that should be expected for a system that makes its home to people who want a novelty item that will gather dust in their closet.

Ottumwa, Iowa says it's the world video game capital

May 1st 2009 6:55PM (Joystiq)
This isn't a capital of the world for video games. How do I know? Because it's not the place where the best or the most video games are made, nor is it the place where the most games are played publicly or competitively. To be a capital of the world, it would have to have a serious stake that is constant, not something that happened more than twenty years ago. And creating a hall of fame doesn't count. Until all of that happens, it's not a true capital.

They need to change it to "Self proclaimed video game capital of the world."

GDC09: Train your eyes on 'The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks'

Mar 25th 2009 2:58PM (Joystiq)
I just had a fanboygasm.

I was so expecting them to make an announcement in Q4 of this year, not now, and NOT a statement that it would be RELEASED later this year. Happy Secre ^-^.

I liked Phantom Hourglass (It seems like it was much better the second time around). This'll be fun. I hope it's another sequel to Windwaker, because that's pretty much just what it looks like.

Side note: Did you see his train outfit? I swear, my eyes bulged when I saw it. I was all, "O-O."

Watch your socks, this Samus cosplay will knock them off

I agree. I think I just developed a Samus cosplay fetish.

Cory Barlog penning a script for Sony

Feb 11th 2009 3:12PM (Joystiq)
I'll admit having a last name like Barlog is kinda cool, but as a Cory myself (spelled Corey, in my case), I don't see his first name as all that cool xP.

Rumor: Three new 'Tales of' games trademarked

Feb 4th 2009 5:42PM (Joystiq)
I thought Tales of the Abyss was a great name, but apparently Namco Bandai wants to keep the "-ia" suffix. It doesn't really matter. Floweria sounds a little... dainty, but I'm still gonna play it.

As a side note, I'd buy a PS3 if any of these turned out to be for that. This is the ONE multiplatform series I'd actually buy a console for. Other games have a hard time getting me hyped up enough to buy a new console. In fact, the only reason I have my 360 right now is because of Vesperia, and a little bit of... inspiration from one of my bosses. Now it's my favorite system.

Rumor: Three new 'Tales of' games trademarked

Feb 4th 2009 5:28PM (Joystiq)
The PSP Tales of Eternia game was a remake of the PS1 version. Tales of Eternia was one of the three original that started the series, as well as Destiny and the first ever game in the series, Phantasia. It's not likely they'd make a sequel for those, but I wouldn't mind having a remake on a system I own.

Build your own war with licensed Halo Wars Mega Bloks

Cue Jack Thompson stating that this is marketing the Halo series to kids.
