I must be one of the few people that would actually prefer a "port", so to speak. EA put a lot of effort into the 360/PS3 game and for them to make a new version just as good for Wii seems extremely unlikely to me. I'd rather get what I know will work great, and if they'd like to to add some additional content and levels on top of the original game, then that would be great too.
The pessimist in me says that if this is a "new take", then we will get a version that is less than the original.

Seriously though, while I think it should have been disclosed by Matt somewhere on the IGN site, this doesn't make me respect the man any less. Fanboy or not, few journalists can match his enthusiasm and dedication.
